Matchbox restoration Iso Grifo nr 14 Diecast car. Making parts

Iso Grifo was produced in the regular wheels version and then superfast. I devoted the film mainly to the old version. I borrowed the door to copy from the superfast model. I also presented painting both models. I made the door from resin. I also made a hook that was damaged. I didn't show this method because I did it in the same way as in the model Rolls Royce convertible. Lesney produced this model in the years 1968 - 1974. In 1985, production resumed briefly in another painting, very simplified

Lesney used a metallic silver light basecoat (which doubled as an undercoat) and a blue candy top coat (which doubled as a laquer) colour was also seen on the Lotus Europa and one or two others, most if not all Lesney 1-75 metallic's were done that way from the early to mid 1960's. They ran them through the spray booths twice, varying the basecoat colour effectively gave Lesney a colour mixing technique for the same transparent candy top coat colour. Most but not all gloss coats were a single coat, or it seems likely they were at least.

Stunning restorations Paul. I have one of these Iso Griffos' with the doors missing , mine is in the lighter turquoise blue . Could you make a couple of doors l could buy from you ? .... l'm hoping to restore my Iso Griffo when l get chance. At the moment l'm just looking for some space to start doing some restorations of my own . If yiu are able to make a couple more doors l could email you and sort out a payment for them . l also sent Marty of Marty's Matchbox Makeovers , the other Iso Griffo l had , they both had thier doors missing when l got the cars from a friend of mine. The Iso Grifo was of Italian coachwork and featured an American large block heart. Made from 1965-74. Thanks for helping me learn something new!
