I show how to make a replica of a high-quality box from beginning to end. I accidentally chose the Rolls Royce Phantom V No. 44 box

Merci beaucoup en ce qui concerne les boîtes, la règle est très simple, le modèle doit tenir dans la boîte, la société forestière, c'est-à-dire la boîte d'allumettes, les dimensions utilisées, par exemple, 26 x 38 x 78 . si le modèle était plus grand, la boîte avait des dimensions de 38 x 38 x 78 mm. il y avait aussi 33 x 38 x 78 mm. plus tôt, dans les années 1960, les boîtes des premiers modèles plus petits étaient plus courtes et avaient une taille de 26 x 38 x 67 m, et dans les années 1950, 26 x 38 x 57. More complicated than I thought. Is this 'Photoshop'? Excellent results though. With technology available to us now we can amuse and create so many things. Very skillful. I don't know why you had negative comments on your restorations. I'm fussy and particular too, but thought you as one of the best. Even matchbox were not always perfect at paint jobs, on headlights, and transfers etc.

Great instruction! There are usually CD's with Dinky - Corgi - Matchbox etc box templates for most of the various models available on EBay. Not always, you have to check around now and then, but fairly often. I bought two - one had every Corgi Model Box template the other had Every Matchbox Model template. I believe I paid $5 CDN each. This was over 15 years ago, I have no idea what they sell for now. You have to have the proper equipment that can print on card stock, these machines are pricey, and you can't use card stock on paper printers/scanners. I've seen people buy cardstock at "Michaels" or "Staples' then print the templates on thick paper and glue it on the card. This is fine for display purposes, but serious collectors want higher quality of course. Get the proper card stock, most have grey backing. So, just consider this before you decide to try this. As long as you have the CDs with the templates you can always have a local printer business make them for you. If you buy bulk you can sell them on EBay, just be sure to advertise them as reproduction. Thank you for all these informative videos!!! One of the very best restorers and customizers on KZfaq!!! After making the first box did you keep the drawing to use as a template (pattern) for future use, just replacing the facing sides and flaps that have the model details?

great work. One Q: once you finish, does looks like the finish of the real box? I mean, those type of comercial boxes looks as if they have a final coating or thin film on top of the printing (sorry here, not an expert on this matter). Is that the case, did they apply a thin film after printing or can you get the same result with just top quality paper? thanks!!!

Thank you very much, the printing technique is very similar to traditional printing, so the box looks and would be factory-printed with the only difference that the old boxes were printed on matte cardboard.

It would be very helpful if you did this again to show what setting you're using on the computer in English so we could follow what you're doing on each stage 👍. How do you know how big the original box by looking at it online?

I generally know the dimensions of all basic matchboxes. If I make a large box whose dimensions I do not know, then having a model, I find photos on the Internet and I count the proportions of the dimensions of the box. This means that in the photo where the model stands on the box, I look if it exactly reaches its ends and then I know the length. if I scale the length dimension, the ratio will be width, and so on.

I guess the original Imperial measurements of the first three boxes were (from smaller to larger): 2.25 x 1.5 x 1 inches; 2.67 x 1.5 x 1 inches; and 3 x 1.5 x 1 inches. The height of the next three boxes probably were: 1 inch; not sure, 1.25 or 1.33 inches?; and 1.5 inches.
