My first car was a white 1965 Chevy Impala 2-door with a 283 v8. My mom got it from a gas station that used it as a loner car. She drove it for several years until I bought it from her. My dad and I had to do a bunch of work on it to keep it going. I eventually sold it to a guy who was gonna restore it. I had a bunch of fun in that car including getting my first speeding ticket. You did an awesome job restoring these models. Thanks for sharing! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Those are fantastic and I just loved this video as we have had Chev Impalas, BelAirs and other models since the 50's and these are my favorite cars. Great job on the commentary and the restorations on both these cars. Would have been nice to find a two door and build it as a 409 car. Take good care.

1964 for sure. A lot of American cars, including Impalas, did taxi duties. Also Ford Galaxies, Dodge Coronets, Ramblers, etc. Good work as usual.

Fantastic, if you hadn't showed the original condition of this I would have thought it was a simple repaint. I like the restoration plus with the additional detailing as well. Great Work.

Doesn't a TAXI usually feature an ACTIVE/INACTIVE light across the top?

Actually the "Impala" was introduced in 1958. See kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fb2PZrSl3JzcZY0.html The Beach Boys hit "409" was based on the 1962 the first year the 409 was an option with the dual 4 barrel carburetor rated at 409 hp. The 1964 Chevrolet had a "Chevrolet" logo in the grill work. The 409/409 was not an option in 1964. st.depositphotos.com/1684360/1259/i/950/depositphotos_12592575-stock-photo-1964-chevy-impala-front-view.jpg It seems the Lesney model has features from both the 1962 and 1964 model years. I'll include a comment here that was originally made on "Time Riders" channel. Here it is, I've made a few corrections. I think Lesney dropped the ball on this one. Firstly it looks pretty much like a 1962 Chevrolet Impala. The front grill looks like a 1964 but is missing the Chevrolet Logo. I have a collection of Dealer Brochures from 1957-1965 and this model is closest to a 1962. Secondly the Impala was the top of the line Trim level. Although it is possible, I don't think a cab company would have gone for the expense. The Biscayne and Bel-Air would have been better suited for a taxi. The lower trim levels did not come standard with carpeting and had a more durable vinyl interior. Why would you buy a car with carpets and fabric seats for cab use? Even the trunk in the lower trim levels would have been better for the wear and tear of luggage and steamer trunks being tossed in and out. Another little known fact is the Impala had a smaller windshield (wind screen) the Biscayne and the Bel-Air had more visibility because they both used the "Bubble Top" carried over from the 1961models. The Impala was available in a 4 door model but 2 door coupes were more popular. 1962 also had 2 standard engine options, a 6 cylinder 235 cubic inch 135 hp and a 283 cu inch, V8 170 hp. Also available options were two 327 Cu inch engine options in 250 & 300 hp and the legendary 409 cu inch engine in 380 hp and the dual quad 409 hp option.
