The iconic Rolls-Royce model was produced by the Lesney factory in 1967-1972. In 1977, this model was produced for the Japanese market in gold, and in 1988, the Matchbox subsidiary from Bulgaria produced it in green. My model is from 1967. It was in very bad condition. It had practically no roof and trunk. It took me 50 man-hours to restore it. I had to putty and sand the body many times until it looked like a Rolls Royce. I made the trunk out of resin. I managed to choose the original painting. Finally, I made a box consistent with the original one.
You can turn on subtitles in your language with commentary on the activity. I publish car repair videos on KZfaq on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

@@johnnybaughman7593 I follow Marty for more than a year. Marty don't make parts and only do old models. Sad part, Marty was given thousands of models that he's not interested to do and those would have had a better home with Paul. Secondly... The best restorer channels don't have commentary or music. The talking and music makes me crazy.

Gosh ! How many owners has this poor Rolls had to end up in such a state ? ( kids are lousy drivers !) But seeing it return to life , shape, and colour in your hands is always very pleasing to the eye

Paul, You seem to constantly set new standards for others in this hobby to think about. You are an inspiration for many of us restorers. Who cares about devaluation. The very thought of something being boxed and mint and not played with, is like taking a puppy to a taxidermist so that it stays a puppy. Restoring is seeing something resurrected from a broken and well played past and made to look lovely again. Life, real life is much bigger than money and value hidding your "collection" in the loft to keep it away from the sunshine.

Every time I watch your work, I think how much the world considers many things disposable. Even with the restoration / customization of this classic Matchbox Rolls-Royce, many people rely TOO much on technology to 3d print items, or buy "out of the box" replacement parts in doing any restoration work. Yes, I understand how that can be a time saving effort am guilty of that myself. The time it takes to develop the skills takes years as I still continue to learn techniques, bust the "old fashioned" skill of doing everything by hand to create a masterpiece like this takes artistry. It reminds me of a coachbuilder for the real Silver Shadow....like Mulliner Park Ward, hand beating panels in a workshop. This is pure human talent that no computer / artificial interlligence can match.

Beste Paul, dit is ook weer een waar kunstwerkje. Deze Rolls Royce is meer dan gerestaureerd, dit modelletje heeft een ware metamorfose ondergaan! De wijze waarop u reparatie uitvoert én missende delen maakt, is schitterend. U behoort ongetwijfeld tot de beste restaurateurs. Very nice. I have one of these with the same problem... missing boot lid. I think that's a common problem with the Mercedes, and I haven't yet bought a good copy to use as a master for casting a replacement. Question for you (and I apologize if you've already answered) have you thought about trying a resin 3D printer for these parts, like a Photon Anycubic or similar? I have NOT gotten one yet, but I understand the resulting prints are extremely smooth... MAYBE smooth enough to make replacement boot lids. BTW, you need to bring your printing house a pack of beers. It looks like you have a GREAT resource there. I live in a smaller-midsize town in the USA (Savannah GA) and I don't believe anyone here has a printer that can print white. And the glossy boxes look amazing. Wish I had a printer like that here! Thanks again for your videos, they are fun and inspiring to watch.

thank you very much. I was thinking about a resin 3D printer. it is definitely a good way because the print quality from this type of printer is satisfactory, but I have not used it yet. When it comes to digital printing, I am surprised that in the United States, which is much more technologically advanced, there are no printers that print in white. There is a video on my channel that shows what this printer looks like and I suspect that maybe you will find one somewhere. This is a normal Oki printer.
