Matchbox restoration Scammell Heavy Wreck Truck nr K-2. Diecast model

Today I present the King Size model produced by Lesney in 1969. My model had an original orange glass, which was rare in this version. To view subtitles in your language at the bottom of the video, please press C on your computer or the three dots on your mobile in the video.
I decided to repair the glass because it was broken, because it was broken. My Scammell Heavy Wreck Truck did not have a hook. I made it of FC 52 polyurethane resin, which I colored with aluminum powder. The exhaust pipe on this truck was broken and needed to be replaced. I made the missing part from a wire 2 mm thick. I made the missing tires in black-dyed polyamide. This model was very popular and therefore it was produced until 1976 in the Superfast version. I also made a very complicated box in which Scammel looks great.

One of my favourite toys from my childhood. I had all three Scammells, the Pipe Truck and Tipper. So I have since acquired them all again, and boxed. You made a very nice job of that Paul, a most attractive model and the box is good. I loved the artwork on all the King-size boxes. Nice to see it re-produced.

Thanks very much, very evocative of days gone by when you saved up for a toy like this and treasured and imaginatively played with it. I'm 59 and can still remember the excitment of going into a true toy shop back in the 60's. Cheers Ian

King Size Matchbox cars and trucks are fine, 1-75 series vehicles go good with 1/87 or H.O. scale train board layouts

Cool das Model habe ich auch, schon witzig zu sehen das ich viele von den gezeigten Modellen selbst habe. Die Spitzenmodelle von Batman oder James Bond hatte ich leider nie, waren damals nicht erschwinglich für meine Eltern.

Great restoration as usual. Can I ask where you get the box artwork from. I've looked all over the Internet and can only find th odd ones. You should release a disk for sale with the scans on for your stickers and boxes 😎👍👍

thank you very much. Like you, I also couldn't find the finished graphics and as in most cases, the ones that are ready are usually very simplified or of poor resolutions. So I worked a little bit on this box
