Formed in Florida, alternative rock band Matchbox Twenty consists of Rob Thomas, Brian Yale, Paul Doucette, and Kyle Cook. The group signed with Atlantic Records in 1995, creating four studio albums including 12x platinum ’Yourself or Someone Like You’ and 4x platinum ’Mad Season’. The band’s debut album spawned the hit singles "Push," "3AM,” "Real World," "Long Day,” and "Back 2 Good” and continued to spit out hits such as "Bent," "Unwell," "If You're Gone," "Bright Lights" and "Disease."
In addition to more than 30 million records sold worldwide, Matchbox Twenty headlined six different tours and has earned many honors, including five Grammy nominations, four American Music Award nods, the 2004 People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Musical Group”, and they were named “Best New Band” in the 1997 Rolling Stone Readers Poll.

I once heard a voice coach say Rob Thomas doesn't actually sing his lyrics, he bites them. It sounds like an insult but she was a huge fan of him. She says he is effortless in his style and no one can do what he does quite the way he does it. She said she tried it and was out of breath by the end of the song. She was like, "you just can't breathe doing it how he does it."

@@winn5736from Time: Were there any really scary moments during the shoot? Paul [Doucette, Matchbox Twenty’s drummer,] on fire was really scary. We kind of thought you’d set the drums on fire and you’d do it once. Paul is literally, physically playing these drums while they’re blazing up. And then they’re like, “We need to do it again to get another shot.” We wound up doing it maybe four different times, and each time Paul’s getting redder and redder and he’s literally emanating heat from himself. That was kind of scary. And the part where people got hurt the most was, oddly enough, when they were throwing the albums. Those little f-ers are thin and sharp!

The first time I heard this song, I was coming up from the basement with a basket full of clean laundry. Alexa had been playing Match Box 20 for me, all day. When I was coming up the stairs, Rob was singing the chorus. I laughed so hard I had to concentrate to lean forward. If I straighten up, the laundry and I would have fallen down the stairs!! Once I got to the kitchen, I asked Alexa to play it again. That was awesome!! ❤️🎵

yeah it does. But I originally had heard the song on the radio. B100 was the station I think. Back when B100 actually played good music like this, The Offspring, Green Day, All American Rejects, and other bands like that including a few good songs that were rock by Avril Lavigne. Radio has gone to shit in the past few years. Only station I listen to now is Rock108 out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Nah I think the director was having a field day with it, you can get good angles and clear footage like that without it being carefully planned out. Plus with her throwing stuff at the band and setting off firecrackers and what not, there’s no way they could allow here to do that for safety reasons unless of course it was planned out.
