And no disrespect man, that's a killer project and an incredibly useful mini bench. Just saying this is not remotely an entry level or "just a few common tools" kind of endeavour. Really dig the design and the microjig stuff is very cool. Love the Red Wing handles on your cabinets too! Cheers, apologies if I sounded like an ass

Hi just been watching your vids on the work bench. Great idea especially for site work. Was looking at making a small table top bench but I will be making one of these now, thanks great idea. I see you have legs at 90 degrees why not make rebates on the bench splayed outwards 7-10degrees. They would still pull out, and flat pack. I had a car years ago and I never glued the legs in on my traditional saw horses they were splayed and pulled out to flat pack them to go in the boot. Bit more mucking about but might be more stable without the use of a sand bag? Still, very good idea. Nick Rust

Beautiful build with quality tools! I know that you are also a master with hand tools and basic drill, driver, and track saw, etc. Would love to see you build the exact bench (or something similar) with the tools of the everyday woodworker. I would love to buy the plans for something I could actually build. Thanks, Jay.

Fwiw, I got the plans last night, and made it through initial cut, surfacing and glue up with a circular saw, a random orbital sander, and some clamps (all from harbor freight) I intend to do the routing with a $25 trim router and some barstock for straight edge guides. The plans are really well laid out and make the above very possible. It's more work, but not too much more.

Jay, did you consider making the legs on the front side vertical. You wouldn't have the access or clearance problems and would be able to clamp large workpieces like doors or large panel to the face of the bench. With the back legs splayed out I think it would be stable and resist lateral forces when hand planing.

A few power tools.. Pulls out table saw with 2 different blades, and dado stack, with cross cut sled, miter saw, one hand held router, one router table, 3 different router bits, festool sander, jointer, planer and drills.. So yeah, guess we don't need a CNC machine, just every other tool that most of us don't have in the shop..

Jay, I just purchased the plans and love them. One thing I think you should add though. We have always used our lower shelf as tool holding and I thought adding some tool holding options for the lower stretcher might be something that could be added. The tool tray in the accessories is nice but a full length tool holding option down under might be nice as well. Great job on the design of this bench! This is the perfect compromise for those of us to need to be mobile.
