10th rd Wood landed a couple clean hard body shots. That was the turning point.

Conlan only had two mistakes. He took himself to the ropes too often and he allowed himself to get into to many exchanges late against Wood who was willing to throw more combinations than himself. Conlan was better at potshotting but Leigh just threw more down the stretch and in the end both contributed to the knockout.

I know it isn't Chavez-Taylor I, but I do similarities and not just the kayo in the 12th. Conlan reminds me of Meldrick in that he is an average puncher (9 kayoes in 19 fights), but he loves to fight instead of being the slick boxer he really is. And just like Meldrick, the pace got to him in the end. Great fight. Definitely Fight of the Year, just like Chavez-Taylor I in 1990.
