Thanks for the camera review. The Mate 60 Pro quality at 7:16 is so good (not talking about focus). Didn't expect that much difference in contrast and colors. For photoraphy, it's more neck and neck but I prefer the color profile on the Mate 60 Pro

To test background blur you should put both on tripod to have same distance.

My friend, before any criticism or comments about the cameras, I need to congratulate you on the incredible comparison, including the night scene... you are on the right path, even more so after Darth Vader is gone... lol Sometimes, I noticed how he was panting, as if he hesitated to give the victory to the Mate 60 at various times, and it's no wonder, because sometimes it didn't make sense to say that the Mate 60 was better, but it seemed like you wanted to justify or present him as better, of course it wasn't always the case, as most of the time his opinion was very coherent. Good job brining the first in depth review and camera test of this phone on KZfaq. I assume the plus version is in the plans? I think it offer OIS on all cameras? Well I think we all might have the feeling that the plus version will be new number 1 on dxomark but what about the battery life? How is the battery life? Is it even comparable to mate 20 series which was awesome. Battery life I can't compromise with since I am out in the wilderness a lot and I do not feel like having it connected to my power bank constantly.

I like the look of the Mate 60 Pro, video is improved, lifted shadows and better quality, the colors are also not so punchy. If you have a chance please make a small test with Filmic Pro just to see how it performs. Overall great camera comparison and review overall, everything done perfect 💪

Nice one sir! Thank you! There are bits of improvement on detailedness and processing of image on Mate 60 Pro. Also I preferred the audio of Mate 60 Pro on your video. In some scenarios, I hate the color reproduction/output of it. They need to fix the color output of Mate 60 Pro. Perhaps, Mate 60 Pro+ destroys Mate 50 Pro entirely hundred percent. Same camera setup with P60 Pro: 48mp main cam + 48mp telemacro (f3.0) + 40mp ultrawide (same with Mate 40 Pro+).

I really appreciate that bro It's the best video I have seen about mate 60 pro photography...but in my opinion as a Photography hobbyist you should add more portraits shots taken with the main and the telephoto lens, this is what most people look for I will be thankful if you do that in your next reviews

Lift shadows is the way to go and sadly Android tends to increase a lot contrast to make that fake depth of field that use to ruin clarity in the eyes of the subject. Well done Hawei! You are in the correct way with Vivo, OnePlus and of course iPhone.

Waoow Mate 60 Pro's Ultrawide is so sharp and detailed with pleasing colours. Actually Mate 60 Pro has better videos footage with all lenses but Zoom lens was a bit shaky and dull. I hope they will fix it with future updates. Please compare it with P60 Pro, and how both 2023 Big dogs perform against each other.

What I found out is that sound recording is clearer on the mate 60 pro, but the sky for some reason looks very artificial (with a glowing edge around the foliage) for the mate 60 pro.

Seems that Mate 60 Pro has some HDR issues, especially evident in the video, around leaves, there is some halo effect and burning as well as unnatural sky color. I'm wondering if it's Kirin limitation or rather just a fact that this is basically still a prototype, as it hasn't been fully released yet and whether it can be polished with an update. Overal, not much of an upgrade coming from Mate 50 Pro, the biggest feature added for sure is tele-macro and its a worthy addition.

Am I the only one who thought the images on the Mate 60 Pro look worse? After watching this video, I'm getting the Mate 50 Pro for higher image quality!

I haven't watched your video but had a chance to try out the new Mate 60 pro today in shops. (I live and work in mainland China) I was not impressed at all. I have an Honor Magic 5 and compared the two. Mate 60 pro has a nice color science with lighter tint and Honor is very warm. Before taking the picture view looked nice on the Mate 60 but after the AI on each went to work Huawei looked blurry faded and not sharp. It struggled with bright lights in the shop and was not as steady with the periscope. The lens looked small compared to the Honor Magic 5, maybe that is just the back design covering the wider part of the lens but they looked tiny. Also not impressed with the design. I dug the donut shape for the mate 50 pro but the front is very square and the overall feeling is not as premium as Samsung, Vivo, or the Honor. The floating island is not popular with many people but that is one thing I forgot to try. People have been really loving the photos from my Honor btw and I even got a, " I like your phone's pics better than iphones." Even my wife, with here iphone 12 max, wants me to use my phone instead of hers.

I am not a fan any more of Huawei's algorithms of photo processing (switched to Nubia Z50 Utra) but I appreciate your efforts. I had a very good experience (5 years) with Huawei before Nubia... last was Huawei Mate 40 pro Regards comparison: I liked Mate 60 pro's video recording much more, also generally Mate 60 pro makes less aggressive processed photos which I like more!

-videography reallt felt better on Mate 60 all the way, better shadow control and bokeh. Zoom did feel better on Mate 60 over mate 50 -pictures, Im quite surprised to see that mate 60 actually does better than its last gen. Usually its just better in name in that regards with minimal differences, but I've noted in first picture that m60 is keeping haze away for farther objects. Most pictures will be same but you'll tend to get better pictures out of m60 more. -ultrawide went to m60, it was able to get more details in shot -zoom, color accuracy seemed quite bad when approaching higher zoom levels in Mate 60, Mate 50 did much better however I believe the issue can be patched up with a quick update. -Macro, the bokeh is beautifully done on M60 and it also offers more details -front facing selfie, details are quite similar on both but I believe M60 has better color accuracy still? -noise suppression felt better on mate 50 -night time video, M60 seemed quite a bit better and glad to see you compare it during night ;) -night time front pics better on m60 -selfie during night time, the foreground appears better in M60 but background goes to M50
