Matera, a city in the Basilicata region of southern Italy, has a distinctive and ancient charm. It is known for its rock caves and stone structures that date back to prehistoric times. The Sassy area of the city, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, preserves this heritage. Matera has also been the setting for some historical films, such as Mel Gibson's ‘The Passion of Christ’ and Pasolini's ‘The Gospel According to St. Matthew’.

That place is a fairytale🤗 I’ve often wondered, where did a city this size get its food back when it was hard to move things over the mountains? I didn’t see any farm land anywhere near there. Just curious.❤️🤗🐝

Italians have a scedule to eat around 14:00, streets are empty then ;) Or maybe it was 18C, thats to cold for them to go outside lol. Italians come out at 16:00 and in the evening

Странно.... Чем могли заниматься жители такого города???? Ни виноградников, ни полей ,ни садов.... Даже животноводством негде заниматься. До моря далеко... Мрачное место.
