Thank you, Bhante. I didn't understand more than about 10% (if that much) of your talk, but I appreciate that you took the time and trouble to share your thoughts with us. Sadhu, sadhu, sadhu. I will just stick with chanting and meditation; reading and listening to Dhamma talks; and applying mindfulness to thought, speech and actions.

If enlightenment is achieved through merit, why is it then that the Buddha is the only one who can achieve all the paramis? Shouldn't any arahant through concentration be able to perfect them?
