Love Van Windows Direct too! We have the AMA windows and like them too. Agree their support is very good too.

We got our windows from www.vanwindowsdirect.com. Also, this is episode 4 not 5 😅. Here’s the complete video! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rtF9dtlq1Lime3k.html

This is exactly how the bulglary cut doors and window in the London Vans. The only difference is that they work from outside! Greets

Does anyone know if my 2005 Econoline Van windows can be reused in a Transit Cargo Van. I'm talking about the two windows on the drivers side. The one right behind the driver the opens from the bottom and the longer fixed closed window on the drivers side also the long side window on the passenger side.

How do you all like the glueing vs compression style install of the CRL windows?
@MathersOnTheMap Жыл бұрын
Honestly don’t mind. The clamp is probably easier since it’s screws but these are definitely easier than bunk windows since you gotta worry about getting them straight. It’s nice that it’s the same process for each window which helped speed things up

Is it absolutely necessary to paint the raw edge? It confused the f out of the glass shop when I requested this to be done, because apparently they've never done it to the other vehicles and it wasn't an issue since it's under the rubber gasket.. I'm kinda worried. Can I remove the rubber gasket once the window is installed?

It’s exposing raw metal on the van so it can rust, I’ve never seen a van or vehicle have any exposed raw metal so I would paint it but that’s me, I think you maybe could remove it? Depends on how they put it on I guess

What did you paint the raw metal with ? Just paint or something else?

Suggestion, You might want to consider a very cost effective and efficient electrical system. Use all 12 volt appliances, roof top ac, refrigerator (compressor style) hot water heater etc. install a few extra non-lithium batteries with appropriate charging system etc. Finally install a second high output alternator on the engine. You would run the engine for a relatively short period to keep the batteries charged when boondocking. Running the Sprinter diesel at idle causes no harm to the engine. It's very fuel efficient at idle and quiet. You could also use the chassis AC/heater as needed. I have done this with a gas Nissan high top van and it was great! No issues what so ever. Maybe some solar as a supplementary charging but I never came close to needing it. Just food for thought. Sometimes keeping things simple makes a lot of sense. Check out the Coachman class B Galleria van as they offer this solution as an option vs a generator or expensive and not so environmentally friendly lithium. As I said, Just a suggestion...
