There's a story behind the song "Never Enough", the actress isn't the one singing it, it's a young woman named Loren Allred who was one of the singers who sanged it in rehearsals and to help the actors with the singing. But the actress decided that she should sing it in the movie because she was amazing.
@kellypritchard6516
@kellypritchard6516 7 ай бұрын
Rebecca fegruson actually trained to sing it for months but couldn't do it to Loren's level, in the end they filmed her actually singing and dubbed over her. That's why it looks so realistic and people don't realise its Loren's voice not Rebecca's, because you can see the strain in Rebecca's face and neck muscles. Loren appeared on BGT and made it to the finals.

The undertones of Jackman sorta taking advantage of the circus characters is warranted, since the character he’s playing in the movie certainly has good intentions but the real person he’s based on, PT Barnum, was absolutely taking advantage of the circus performers he hired.
@lostisfound5130
@lostisfound5130 7 ай бұрын
(No spoilers, just explaining a bit of the characters) Phillip Carlyle (Zac Efron) is the son of some uppity high society people and by joining the circus he's basically dishonoring his family name. He's also kinda depressed before joining the circus I think? Or at least an alcoholic (so basically depressed) He would only drink and work on his plays. Phineas T. Barnum (Hugh Jackman) starts the circus off with good intentions but kinda loses himself and the meaning behind the circus throughout the musical, at the end he realizes he was being a little bitch and tries to fix himself. Jenny Lind (Rebecca Ferguson) is a professional opera singer, her singing is good but we don't like her (I don't at least) (edited because I was writing these as I was watching the video)

She is actually the reason that I stopped watching The Voice, because she was robbed on that show. The show broadcasted multiple people that did not make the cut, but did not show Loren's audition. They did not show her next performance either. They showed her for the first time in the knockout round and it ticked me off because she couldnt develop a fan base for rhe next round which was the first round that the fans voted on, and she wound up not getting enough votes. He had nasal surgery to remove a skin cancer the day before they were getting the movie greenlit, and his doctor told him not to sing at all. The lyricists for the movie asked Jeremey Jordan (who played Phillip Carlyle in the greenlight version) to sing Jackman's parts while Jackman did everything else. In From Now On, he decided to sing after Jordan sang a bit of the beginning of the song. There's a video of it on youtube and I highly recommend watching it :)

13:50 Ironically, it's not just the vibes of the show, but also from history. People can whine all they want that people in his circus were put on a show, but in their times it was still shitload better than lots of the alternative which were being put on a show by medical people, random person in a shop or begging on the street.

Love this! There’s a medley of this by Voiceplay that I highly recommend. Voiceplay in general. Also their member, Geoff, if you’ve never heard him.. prepare yourself. Fair warning. He’s got amazing solo stuff as well. Anyway, thanks for this! Looking forward to more, especially more JATP. Cheers!

Drew Seeley Sings HSM1, but Zac Efron fought for the right to sing in HSM2 & 3 and it was amazing. This is why you should watch all the movies. BTW "Never Enough" is sung by someone else.

At 5:22 there is a man beating on the ceiling while Mathew describes the excellent percussion. It is my personal belief that "drywall" should be added to the list of instruments which Mathew is expected to comment upon.

I cannot emphasize this enough, you NEED to watch the movie. The story is incredible, it's such a comfort movie for me. All of the characters are played so well and obviously the music is beyond. These clips don't do it justice. Genuinely, when you get a chance, watch the musical in full. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed!

Fun fact! If you go back and watch The Other Side, yoi can see that Hugh Jackmans character isnt actually drinking most of the shots, but Zac Efrons character drinks every single one hes given. Implying that Hugh got Zac drunk enough to lower his inhibitions to get him to agree to a deal.

Hugh singing the first song is when their circus was burnt down and they were all sad and his wife had left him. He's running to his wife. Second song he's asking Zac to be part of the circus but not as a performer. They agree on a payment amount. This is him trying to get him on board. Please watch the movie. You'll enjoy it and understand the context of the songs. Lorent who sings Never Enough does go higher in her Britain's Got Talent audition. She originally sang it for the actor to learn but they thought she sounded better and kept her version. It's an amazing song. They all are
