American here. This is so awesome to see. Canadian brought up through their system. Absolute dog that is clearly playing at a level way too high for CFL and now gets a chance to show what he can do at the highest level. Hope to see more of this from Canada, Europe and Australia going forward!

Betts is good, but I don’t expect him to have this kind of success in the NFL. He will definitely add pressure defensively and he’s only going to get better with time. I like this pick up.

If he gets his NFL legs under him he’ll matchup nicely with Hutch. Liked the clip where he was double teamed; levels one player then pushed the other aside and gets the quarterback,now that’s impressive.

He weighs more than maxx crosby. 6'3" like micah faster than nick bosa. Arm length of reddick and hand size 9 and 6 tenths. I can see a bit of all of them in his play.

Damn I really hope he translates! Dude has some short-area burst and violent suddenness. He couldn't be going to a better situation, either, to help him succeed. If they signed him, he's a Grit guy and will fit into the locker room like a glove. Then he'll get some of the best DL coaching around and spend every practice working against Sewell and/or Decker. (Nobody really talks about it, but the Lions having Hutch vs. those two every day in practice is almost like a cheat code - almost nobody he faces during a game will be able to stop him like those guys can)

As a lions fan, I’m cautiously optimistic. Dude has a motor. A lot of these highlights are because he never gave up on the play. The part of his game I most hope translate in the NFL is being an absolutely stud when the QB leaves the pocket. If he can do that off the opposite side of Hutch, consistently? He’s worth the spot. Also do they not call holding in the CFL??? Dude already looks like a Lion 🤣🤣🤣

Honestly CFL has a bigger field...more athletic lineman with their style of football...but as an end he has potential to be a nightmare. Blitz him as a LB...move him around and see what he can do in the league.

Let’s be honest, the OLinemen in these clips just flat out suck. A lot of them are more like fat tight ends and way too small to make it in the NFL. Several of the sacks came on snaps where the tackle was slow to react, borderline lazy like they snapped the ball until MB was already past him. But MB has a WICKED fast getoff at the line of scrimmage that is very James Houston-esque. If he can learn to play OLB, he could even be utilized how Dallas was deploying Micah Parsons before Parsons switched to a full time DE. Great low risk, high upside find by Detroit
