I think Enrico was on other level: technically and balisticly; he could have had a bigger carrear (buy injuries and clubs he played for did not help); however Federico seems to have in his destiny bigger teams, competitions and results. And, that must be said, Federico is a real fighter (similar to Nedved in this aspect)

Enrico Chiesa in Fiorentina until the huge injury in 2001 was literally unstoppable, 3:46 look at his speed, Milan defenders not even try to chase him. In those years in Italy there were so many scary strikers that Chiesa was considered almost "normal" and big teams had already picked up others big name, due to this i can say he was a bit unlucky

I wouldn't say so; Federico shoots well, but Enrico's striking technique was really incredible and he had a lot of finesse on top of power and could score from anywhere with volleys, or bend the ball, and shoot fist time...when he finishes on the ground, you can see the way the ball glides with the spin he puts on it. Then of course sometimes he would finish with power, but having seen him, this was something that really set him apart. That being said Federico's striking technique is also very good and he's still developing so I'm sure it will only get better!

Great video editing. Very hard to put this together. Thank you. Enrico was so lethal, so unpredictable. Federico plays in a different position though but is definitely in the right path to become as good as his dad or perhaps even better. So far luck has been on his side, not so much on his dad's who deserved way more recognition. Time will tell. Federico pushes himself to the max (like his dad) and is very humble too. This is a must for a good career.

Great video Mati! Federico is better in athleticism. More power, more speed during long runs, more stamina. Enrico a little bit better than his son in technical skills, especially he was more creative and unpredictable in the box. Don't forget that Enrico was a striker, Federico is a winger! Last thing: mentally Federico is a beast, he seems to be hungrier than his father. This can be the real difference between these two amazing players.

His skills set are exponentially developing and in my opinion he is already at least at the level of his father, but with a stronger and more athletic body and has not yet reached his peak! He has the chance to became one of the greatest players. Let us hope he will be consistently performing. He also seems menthally super strong and competitive, which is crucial for greatness!

@0:06 Federico's face has barely changed. Historically, you tend to find that either the son is much better than the father or the father is much better than the son. In this case the difference in quality between father and son is much smaller. The scary thing is Federico is still only 23 and looks to already be at a similar level to his father, being able to do everything Enrico could do only at a faster pace. Like Alberico Evani said, "Chiesa will only get stronger".
@dangiambrone7350
@dangiambrone7350 2 жыл бұрын
@ANC Nutrition Thanks for your reply. Id didn't make myself clear. My point is that there is usually a great difference between father and son and vice versa; that there is usually a big gap between the two, i.e. Johan being far superior to Jordi Cruyff, Paul Ince being better than Tom Ince and then the other way there's Frank Lampard being much better than Frank SR, Tiago being much better than Mazinho. If anything, I think that the sons are beginning to level things up, what with Maldini, Tiago, Haaland and now Chiesa JR. I was also thinking that Enrico may have had a better shot, but don't forget that we're seeing clips from his entire career here; many of which were taken from 1995 onward's, when Enrico was already in his mid twenties. I'm not so sure that Enrico had a better shot than his son when he was 23.
@dangiambrone7350
@dangiambrone7350 2 жыл бұрын
@ANC Nutrition I mean't Paolo being better than his father Cesare. I am also far from convinced by Daniel. He is a skillful player, but lacks aggression and does not impose himself on the game. He has time on his side I suppose. Your first reply ("yes, usually the son is never as good as the father") made it look like I gave you the impression that I was suggesting that fathers are better than their sons. Anyway no worries. on that one. Yes, Serie A was much tougher back then; considerably better defenders, better defences and far more cautious coaches. 1 goal back then is worth two in today's game in my opinion. We were well and truly stacked when it came to fantasy forwards and number 9's, a bit like how we are blessed with central midfield options today. It's a great shame that many will not get the number of caps that their quality deserves, as it was with Zola, Enrico, Mancini and even Baggio (56 caps, many of which were sub appearances, is a footballing tragedy - he should have had at least 100). I haven't seen enough of Joaquin to make that comparison. Federico reminds me of Kaka as does Zaniolo.

Hmmm...I wouldn't say they are all that similar personally, even though they could play in the same position at times. They do have some similarities, but they're quite different to be honest. Enrico could play as a winger, it's true, and did at times, but was more of a striker or second striker, who was known for his movement off the ball, and he had far better striking technique and finishing (although Federico's shooting technique is also good, so I'm not bashing him, but those who saw Enrico will know what I mean and remember it well), and was also better in the air and at free kicks, and I think he had an even better touch and was a better passer as well. And while Enrico was also quick and hard-working, Federico is more dynamic and even faster and more of a dribbler however, and is even more hard-working defensively, and is more a player who operates out wide on either flank and who has the freedom to cut inside to the centre to shoot, or runs to the touchline to whip in the ball, even though he also has good movement as well. But Federico is still developing and has great potential and above all an incredible mentality and tenacity, and has had a great season, even though I don't think he's naturally as talented, prolific, or technical as Enrico. I just hope that he's more fortunate than his dad when it comes to injuries, who was quite prone to them. His dad also had to play in a really competitive era of Italian football, so he didn't get nearly enough space with the Italian national team, which is a shame; he would have been good enough to play in almost any top national team today to be honest, and would be starting for Italy now, and he also starred in the great Parma side of the 90s both domestically and in Europe despite competition from many top forwards.

Great video! Thanks for creating and posting. Big fan of both Chiesa players. Also, when you think of the attacking power Italy had in Enrico’s day! While it would arguably be tactical madness, and you’d have to mostly sacrifice a midfield, it would have been tempting to play some sort of a 3-1-6 formation. Up front, I would play Vieri, Inzaghi, Del Piero, Totti, Chiesa, and Montella. I know there’d be a lot of stepping on each other’s toes, especially with the number 9’s, but it would be interesting to try to make it work. If you had to play them, how do you think you could position this cast to pull it off?

In my opinion, and I am italian , Enrico had just less opportunity because in the age of Enrico Chiesa there were stronger players then him such Baggio , Zola Del Piero e Totti were starting to emerge. In this age even if italy just won the European cup ,there's not much individual talented players as ages ago. So Federico Chiesa who it is very talented seems even more compared to his father. But Enrico was a great player too. I think Enrico was more a shooter while Federico is more a dribbler and runner, they don't really have identical style.

Another unlikely parallel is that they both played alongside a teammate who is Argentinian with Polish background (Hernan Crespo, Paulo Dybala). Same talent same qualities. Federico has anyway a big advantage. His father is Enrico Chiesa...

with the difference that at that time there were many strong strikers in Italy and he, Enrico the father, hardly had a place in the national team...96 at the European Championships he played alternately with Zola, Casiraghi and Ravanelli. 2 years later at the World Cup, it was mainly Vieri, Del Piero and Baggio as well as Inzaghi who played...then Totti, Montella, Delvecchio joined...

@@dghimkarim4200 Do not be offended by what I am going to say. Do you use Pedri as a comparison? Surely you are very young, but I must tell you that in the 90s Pedri would not have played even in the 3rd Division, I personally know 15 non-professional players from the small town where I live, who are better than Pedri
