Harry Potter is mentioned in this song. In both the 1996 movie and the 2022 one, Miss Trunchbull is played by an actress who was in Harry Potter. In 1996, she was played by Pam Ferris who played Aunt Marge and in 2022, she was played by Emma Thompson who played Professor Trelawny

I'm auditioning for Matilda the Musical in a few months, but the problem is that there aren't any young male roles that involve singing, or at least that I know of. I could technically play a girl role but I don't know if I'd feel comfortable doing that. Maybe I'll do part of the ensemble or something. Suggestions would be great :)

If a picture is a thousand words than watching this video is the equivilant of reading 4650000 words [video is in 30 fps meaning 30 pictures per second or "Frames"] (2 min = 120 sec + 35 sec = 155 sec x 30 fps = 4650 pictures in this video x 1000 words = 4650000)

Books vs. movies. All depends on what you read or what you watch. You get more depth from an episode of Mad Men than you'd ever get reading Shades of Gray (though I highly doubt Matilda's dad watches Mad Men). However, the Animorphs book series is way better than the Animorphs TV series. In other words, all forms of entertainment have a story to tell and shouldn't be passed up. Though, to be fair, television was beyond crappy when Roald Dahl was writing.

I'm kind of annoyed that this song wasn't featured in the new Netflix film, there can't be that many policies against insults towards classical literature, when it's only a bit of fun with the rhyming song lyrics, and not intentional disrepect.
