Australia were totally owned by England. Especially in the 1st half, England had 80% possession of the ball. I watched it on the BBC & the commentary was so different to how the Australian media had the game. In the UK it was seen as a pretty & easy comfortable win against a fairly flat opposition, in Australia it was somehow positioned as a close game.

I think they were frustrated that England were passing around a lot at the back, but that’s how you control possession. If Aussies had pressed more, maybe they nullify that. All the English players play in the top leagues and have more experience.

They should be so proud of what they accomplished. It is devastating that they didn't come out on top, but going down in the semi final is further than any Australian team has come before. The Matilda’s were outclassed in the commitment stakes.’ Simply were there for the Event, as evident by their lack of commitment to lung for the deflection of the shots’ to goal, & easing-up in the last half. @yeshuaknoyanot8474 exactly... basically most of the girls who won us the euros last year. But it proves just how many great players we have at the moment. Scary really. How the aussies could blame this on their injuries is a joke, and I've also heard that their media over there seem to think it was a close match lol. England could and probably should have had another 3 or 4 sitters. In every aspect of the game the English girls were so much better. And if they had needed to i'm sure they had a few more gears to up as well. At least they play to a plan and have a basic structure. If they lose to Spain it will be a freak result, like a 1 in 10 type thing, but imo England have been hands down the best side at this tournament. Let's hope they maintain that for one more game. Personally I think the Spanish will be terrified and will be mostly just trying to contain England.

02:46 That was not an easy chance. Kerr had her back to goal, and was trying to nod the ball in with the top of her head. 03:01 Definitely a big let off for England. The ball popped out quickly and Kerr was leaning back a tad, but even then she should be able to put those sort of chances away. Please don't give up your day job, Sam! KTBFFH!

@dwaynedibley4294 one goal in a game you got dominated in. Wow what pride. Pity you didn't manage a few more. Plus her goal wasn't all that. It was down to bad keeping. It was nowhere near the corners. It was right in the middle of the goal at a perfect height. 9/10 keepers save that. She switched off though cause it was all getting too easy. England could also have scored 3 or 4 more very easily.

A lot of it is just banter, although obviously you will get the odd few. We've never really had success so try to enjoy it when we can. Most have plenty of respect and Australia played a great game
