Great game in every way. Arnold was the difference in the game and the PK. Her stop on the re- take of the off the line save was epic. The French Keeper's save, going to her right and reaching her paw back to make a save was world class. Had Arnold not hit the post she would be Premier of OZ by now! It would have been epic altogether. Next only to Sinclair's hat trick vs the USA at Old Trafford when FIFA and the Norwegian Ref , with TWO BS calls, had caved in to FIFA pressure for ratings... to have the USA win. Full marks to OZ! One thing which escapes comment was that the Matildas really gutted up WITHOUT Kerr until the last two games so far. Talk about courage!

You did act like a bit of a dickhead though, as did the other guy. I'm glad that you cooled off in time so that we could enjoy the second half of the shootout uninterrupted. In hindsight, I'm sure you know yourself that in a moment like that, you're better just to play along with the "joke."

iphone 13 pro lol ! if you watch my other vlogs a lot is filmed on a Sony XDR-3000 which can go up to 4k but you can see the iphone quality, particularly the zoom is just better. and the mics are great too

I like this cos you can see the players doing the long walk up or back. Not once did they show that in the 20 penalties on live tv. It's just close up of this, close up of that. Just show the scene once in a while damn it!

Mackenzie Arnold = all class, an so brave. France: uses a specialist penalty goalie. And one of them 'stutter runs in' when taking her shot. (umpires need to rub this out).

There’s nothing wrong with the stutter run, most of the best penalty takers use it to their advantage. You just have to always have forward motion

@@Nihao_NinjasThere's everything wrong with it. It's very unfair on goalies. Many times, the stutter run causes the goalie to be off the line prematurely. Penalty kick rules need to be adjusted to give goalies a fairer chance. Right now, there are too many rules working against the goalie - foot has to be on the line; can't move sideways before the kick; penalty taker allowed to stutter while goalie waits forever. It's all nonsense. Just shows how clueless FIFA is. The only rule FIFA hasn't brought out against goalies during PKs is having their arms and legs bound!

no rule, they could run down but the keeper wont run back to the goal and they'll just wait at the spot and get nervous. i think its about staying mentally calm on that walk.

They are not penalties. They are spot kicks. The game is over. The ball is not in play when the goalie saves it. The nomenclature is incorrect.

haha it is called a penalty shootout. the game is not over, its part of the game. No one calls it spot kicks - maybe in childrens social teams in the united states , where they use the wrong termanology often?

I've watched the highlights of some games. this was the first women's match where I watched the whole game, boring, slow, poor ball control, abysmal passing, how anyone can say it was a great game beats me. Really disappointed at the crowd booing the French.

Well, point made. But, but, but the France team should be booed at because they were better overall but didn't have the guts to finish off the game. So, as we say in proper Dutch: Chickens come home to roost / What goes around, comes around / Harm watch, harm catch...etc.

not seen a shoot out where the crowd has not tried to put teams off, if anything that was light and likely didnt phase them compared to what they'd get back in europe or just the pressure of the kick itself. as for the game, regardless of quality it was exciting. Id rather see a game of average quality that was super exciting than a game of high quality that was boring. just my opinion.
