this shy boy got shoes on it already broking You would not get any where near a wild horse it would fight for it life. Monty lies in the Saddle no way join up and follow up been going on for hundred of years but wild horse will join up but bite or kick with it front legs mate

Even if that horse was exhausted -- and he did not appear to be -- he would never have been so tractable with traditional training techniques. What we saw in this video was beyond amazing -- It was miraculous.

Monty Roberts is indeed a Legend. Before I knew of anyone else, I knew of this man. It's ok if others are doing this because it's important knowledge that needs to be shared. We need to change the way we treat horses. They have been our allies and fearless ones, for millennia. We do not have to be cruel to them.

7:43 tears down my face seeing Monty getting emotional, and getting the job done and something way deeper than what this video shows. This guy and Cesar Millan, despite with different animals, they are in a very similar league. These guys and many others following the same path are helping not only their animals, but especially us human beings, teaching us things that no educational system on Earth in the past 3000 years has been able to. Thank you Monty. Whatever you Sir may say about your humble self. Thank you.

Monty and his wife fostered 47 children and used the same gentle techniques with them as they do on the horses.

The gentling of the mustang is impressive but what’s also impressive is that Monty did this in his 60s!

I notice this wild mustang is not head shy as are domesticated horses who have been traumatized by abusive human handling

Yep Monty Roberts has helped thousands of horses and people. Seen him work dozens of times. Legend. I heard that he "chased this mustang for three day to tire him out" that's not true he quietly followed him through the night and next morning got a join up. Three and a half days was the total training time. I read the book.

Monty Robers is almost the Messiah of horses. He revolutionized the training techniques for horses the better. Yes there were others, but the techniques where either secret or lost over time. (Like Native American techniques) Monty helped to bring these techniques to public knowledge.

Any trainer has failures. They aren't Gods. But my opinion is that the gentle way of changing behavior may take longer, but it is best to have the patience and take the time necessary.

Monty's techniques (modified of course) works well with humans also. When Monty knows if there were/are victims of abuse in the area when we is working with horses in the round pen. One time when a mare that was previously abused joined up with Monty, 3 women passed out in the crowd. All 3 were victims of abuse and seeing the horse put it's abuse aside and trust Monty was such a shock all passed out. Monty has even been approached by abusers, and helps they get the help they need in return.

How are you doing now? Remember to use his principle on yourself, praise yourself for every little positive step forward and give yourself consequences that help you build character when you drop off on the wrong side of the proactive positive path... but mostly encourage yourself with a simple “yes! you did that, good on you mate!”

Don't be cruel to LiveLoveRideForeva . First of all it's ironic and not in a good way with "cruelty" being a buzzword for M.R. and his acolytes, and secondly, they made a important and valid observation that one might think it would be welcomed. And maybe it might be good to know a little more about the past of the man you are so blindly defending. Or not.

if monty roberts is so great. why did my boss have to take 2 horses from return to fredom in lompoc, ca and undo everything that was done to them. one of the geldings was so traumatized that he couldn't turn his head due to being terrified and shut down. we run across messed up monty horses all the time, but of course why would he post about his screw ups.

Seriously. Anyone could ride a mustang after 3 days if they had spent the first 2 days chasing it.
