Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain have worked together on two big science-fiction films - “Interstellar” and the new move “The Martian,” which Damon calls realistic “science faction” - but as they sit down with Natalie Morales, they joke that they’ve barely spent 10 minutes in the same scenes. They pose like a pair of romantic comedy stars for an imaginary film for which Damon supplies the title: “Here TODAY, Gone Tomorrow.”

Jessica Chastain brought the character of the perfect female leader onto our screens. She's a woman. She's a leader. She's not a _leader woman_, as in, many female characters are _forced_ to be powerful women and role models. No. She's a navy officer, she's an astronaut, she's the commander of one of the greatest space missions _and_ she's a woman. Commander Melissa Lewis is a powerful, intelligent, charismatic character. Her education, her career, her wits and her leadership skills define her as we see her but she also has a deep emotional side - She's not "overpowered" just to make a forceful female presence. She is an admirable astronaut, an admirable _human being_. If I ever have daughters, this is the kind of female role model that I'd like them to look up to. Jessica Chastain brought into life the modern woman as we'd like to see her and hats off to her for it.

Matt hasn't said anything controversial about homosexuality. Man, some "journalists" really can't think twice. He just said that your sexuality is nothing you have to reveal in public. Not that you shouldn't because you have to be ashamed of it, no. Because it's your privacy, that's all. Good lord, some ppl, really..

Could not agree more with you, and totally agree with Matt Damon. Sexuality, whatever it's like, should be kept private. Because I really don't want to here about anyone's sexuality, we are just fed up with these talks. And these guys pointing out that this interview was made before are just disgusting. I mean, they look like they ganged up to bully a person for simply stating his point of view. OMG, someone might get offended because of what Matt said, blabla. You know what, I am offended now, because of your comments on Matt Damon comments. How do you like them apples?

+1kaaa I thought that strange , too. The whole "controversy" was complete b.s. anyway. Politically correct nonsense-- a manufactured "gotcha" moment that was twisted in to a juicy story. What exactly did Damon do or say? He disagreed with a black woman during a creative discussion. His view was that it didn't matter what the race, ethnicity, or sex was of the production team (specifically, the director). Only that the person or persons had the vision and ideas to bring the script/story to life. On that level, diversity belonged in front of the camera, not behind it. That's what he said. Yet the implication and charge was that Matt Damon made racist statements. Put another way, Damon was disagreeing with the premise that if the main character in the script was a black woman, only another black woman could truly understand the character and therefore would be the best possible person to direct the project. And I would add that if you accept that premise, then you'd also have to accept it if the reverse were true-- that if the main character were white, then only a white person would be qualified to helm the project.

+1kaaa I mean, I saw the comments, and they weren't that bad, but maybe a little insensitive. I agree that it's not the public's business to know about celebrities' sexuality, but if they want to talk about it, I don't see the problem. Gay people are still mistreated all over the world, and if famous people want to openly admit they're gay, hoping it'll bring awareness to the issue, then good for them. As far as the racist comments go, I don't have an excuse there. I saw the clip and found it outrageous that he thought he knew more about the diversity issue than the only black woman in the room. He was kinda rude to her tbh, and this is coming from someone who loves Matt.
