Oscar-winning actor and writer Matt Damon promised his family he would take some time off, but then "Oppenheimer" director Christopher Nolan reached out to him with an offer. i was only so-so about Oppenheimer, not sure if i was enjoying it, then Matt Damon's character showed up and i was fully invested from that point on. Great performance.

Matt Damon is my favorite actor. This blew my mind when I figured this out, but he's literally in my top 3 or 4 favorite movies and he's the only common denominator between those films, except for 2 of them being directed by Christopher Nolan.
