World cup 98 , scotland squad were staying at a hotel in my village befire they left for france - i used to run to the hotel every night after school, all the squad would talk to us and sign autographs , matt Elliott would talk to me every afternoon , gave me his training gear when they were leaving . What an incredible man !

Was a solid big no nonces CB and one of the first names on the team sheet under Martin at Leicester what .. where a good team muzzy heskey Lennon .. and a Scotland international and played in the prem for years not a bad career the big fella.. best out of anyone at the table he's talking to

Believe Elliot was also at leatherhead in his youth career around time he was at Epsom and Ewell (So I’m told in the clubhouse at leatherhead) Top episode lads! Probably my favourite one so far! Keep it up 👍👍👍

He was a bit of a boy in his Torquay days, heard a story about him and a motorcycle, and he's right about Mark Loram from Torquay, he was a great Div 3/4 player, super talented, but he loved the local area to much want to move on, and settled for a career in lower league football...Matt had a super career in the game.

Says he could have went to Celtic when O’Neill was there, that was when they got to uefa cup final beat Liverpool Blackburn the lot. Would have been some move for him they even beat Barcelona that Celtic team I was on looking there and there a massive massive club!

We were consistently finishing top 8 and won a couple of leagues cups during the MON era. I think that was probably about his level. Walsh was a better footballer, but injury and discipline let him down. Both legends, both loved the club and still live locally.
