Thank you for that comment. I lost my brother to addiction pretty sure he had fentanyl or tampered drugs... People had it out for him though he was the sweetest kind of hearts and wasn't afraid to speak the truth. Good luck on your journey. Stay safe and live life to the fullest potential for yourself 💖

As someone who has struggled with addiction, I felt every part of this. From the jail cell door closing, to sitting around your family feeling disconnected, to the withdrawal (how it came off to me), from running as fast as you can from those demons, and being picked up almost in a sense like it’s you finally saving/accepting yourself. This is so beautiful and powerful. You’re incredible.

I’m a 40 year old woman and love this talented artist … his voice,music and especially his lyrics are the soundtrack to my life! I can’t believe I only discovered him last year but been a fan since and even introduced his music to my 19 year old daughter who obviously loved it also! Doesn’t matter how old you are… music has no limits/boundaries and can reach anyone who connects with it and you can’t deny that this is pure and utter raw talent! If anyone that's struggling reads this, just KNOW that your God loves you more than you can possibly comprehend. You may not believe it but it's the truth. He allows us to go through some serious shit for our own good. And we won't understand it in the midst of it, but in the end it will make sense. Anyway take it or leave it. Baby I love you too much. I can't even take it. You are helping me so deeply. God. Being "sober" and finding this song simultaneously makes me glow and explode tbh. You don't make me feel sober. You make me throw tantric electric Kundalini ascension fits. When you say "living for the damage" I can taste it and it's gone and it never was (doesn't have to be) (what has to be is what you say there has to be) 💐 -- but when you ask the questions in these songs - it feels like it actually kills me, I can hear my own voice having spoken the same words too recently. This is so powerful in speaking to addiction... The version of how you are in reality, versus how you can feel in your head - or at least this is my take on it. And then just seeing how it's still you regardless; you're just left to look at this one part of you (like at the end of the video) and you see they're a mess, and then you realize it's just you. I feel like that's where it becomes a turning point. I know you write a lot about drinking (I do, too). It's a painful place to be when everyone else doesn't understand and it's fun for them (like at dinner parties - in the music video you had water and they all had alcohol). Insanely powerful video!

I walked every step you took in this video, a thousand times on that exact same concrete. Real talk, in real life. There was a time, 30 years ago, teenager, huddled up behind my mattress...people lighting pillows and sheets on fire and throwing them down at the guards. The guards had a cure for that, didn't matter if you were laying on your bunk reading a book, blocking out 4 stories of people yelling like fools, you padded yourself in the corner cause that fire hose hurt. This song hits hard, for it was a time in my life I can't shake. I knew this was the Old Joliet prison before I finished seeing your video for the first time...still get goosebumps now. I stole some sh*t and caught an escape after that, so I was red ID, max security, so I went here, never knowing I was going to be "waiting for a transfer" for my whole bit...You understand what I'm sayin'. I know how you grew up, so you get it. Then we come to the now...three kids, happily married for 11 years, never a night apart, own a small home, work from home selling my art all over the world. I refuse to forget that part of my life, but I left it behind me..thank you man, for this moment from my past...Peace.
