Matt, this song is just unexplainable. Your songs can feed the souls of humans not just what we see conspicuous to the eye. Your songs are the root of that feeling when you’re relaxed and almost about to fall asleep. Like your eyes are shut and you barely can hear anything but your mind is still flickered on. Your voice feels like velvet on the skin and the instrumental is so electric but so subtle. Truly Matt, truly the most emotionally packed songs about reckless yet unconditional love.

Matt Maltese has the most repayable songs I have ever heard, I've been listening to him for more than a year and I've replayed his entire discography countless times and never felt the need to "Look for more artists and songs" or get bored of the lyrics at all, every replay gets better and better so he is definitely my top 1 artist.

Told you I wasn't drunk. I think this song is about something dark(ik weird but listen) its a guy in a nightclub and he likes a girl there whos super drunk “ im not one for nightclubs,” ( he doesnt like nightclubs) “ but ill make exceptions for you dear” ( but he goes for her) and during the beginning hes dancing with her, passes her a drink, helps her by holding her hair outside while she vomits and then takes her home. and then at the “ how about I run you a bath part” it starts showing what he was really doing he wasnt crushing on her, he was Obsessed with her “ I want you” “ thats just how it is “ and he runs a bath for her, and she gets in and shes laughing and hes in the kitchen cutting something then when the music, in the end, gets all loopy the scenery changes, hes chopping up fingers and then it leads to blood marks that leads to the bloody bathroom

Edit: so like at the beginning its not obvious he drugged her or anything until near the end of the song where it says “ I want you and thats the way it is” over and over again. and in the end he says “ its not the alcohol , its kismet” and if you search kismet the definition is “ karma , gods will, ones doom”

Makes me imagine some country guy/sheltered goody guy/awkward guy in a club somehow ended up getting attracted to some random person in the club, him dancing with her getting drunk and high together with the sounds and surroundings, heart pumping and him thinking that shallow stuff was love cause y'know no one finds true love in night clubs but a few exceptions. "It's good for your bladder, when you said that I knew that I want you..." That line especially makes me laugh haha.
