Matt's Country - Episode 13 How to fit a Bipod to a Weihrauch HW100 with affordable parts from ebay. A Bipod can improve your accuracy on your air rifle. Air rifle shooting is all about accuracy. It can be cheap too. As with all my videos, one take, no edits, no cuts, no fancy graphics. Hope it helps you guys. This bipod is a cheap copy of a well known brand. But the choice is yours.
I wont link to specific sellers. No one's paying me. I buy all this kit myself. No sponsors.

Glad it helped Tim. That's really what this is all about. There are enough people trying to be famous on Social Media but not helping any one at all. Good luck with your Bipod :) Shoot straight, shoot safe

Good straight forward info, just aquired the .177 version, wish the rear stud for a sling was factory fitted as standard, these little things make the difference to what for most of us is a top of the range airgun.

Good video, very clear instruction. You will notice under the bipod there are 2 tabs with a hole in similar to what the bipod uses to grip the stud, my rifle sling attaches through those I have the brand name bipod, however once when put next to a copy from China the only difference when we compared them apart from large price difference was sleeving over the springs.. which always (on mine) bunch up & look disappointing.

Top tip ,put some good quality thick electrical tape on stock where the bipod `pads` meet it or they will mark it😊

The legs should fold forward because if you have them folding backwards as soon as you put pressure into the rifle stock the bipod will collapse….

Very helpful video Matt. Only problem for me is that I have the latest version of the HW100 in a KT version and when I took the factory screw stud out from the stock there was already a small black washer in the hole. I left it there and screwed the replacement stud in but when it was tight, the holes run front to back not side to side 🙄 so I can’t connect the bipod. If I remove the factory supplied black washer from the hole it looks like the replacement stud will sit too deep! 😩 Just wonder what you suggest? Should I still try a split washer instead of the factory one? Thanks
@mattscountry363
@mattscountry363 3 ай бұрын
I had no idea they'd changed it. Wonder why? Maybe mine was missing! More likely that's it. Either way, I'd leave the factory washer in and get a split/spring lock washer next and then fit the stud CAREFULLY over that.. gently tighten and see if you can get it to sit straight. (Some debate about naming conventions on these washers, and Google is as much help as a chocolate teapot on that, but you know which type you want)

not sure if you got lucky with the split washer, the stud I purched from Fleabay will not line up properly not matter if using a split washer or numerous small shims. looking closely you may have used a larger split washer than I tried, your washer looks to be on the outer diameter of the fixing in the stock, the washer I used drops into the hole.

Hi Chris. Is it too long? Compare it to your original stock bolt. Maybe you need to shorten it... find a nut that fits....put the nut on the stud thread, wind it right down.. then hacksaw off a little of the tread, file it smooth, then unscrew the nut so it acts as a "re-threading tool" as it comes off.

@@mattscountry363 Hi, it was too short, bought another one that is 2mm longer in thread, still to try it.

Why do you need spring washer? No need for stud to be tight. Bipod will pull tight againt frame when tightening and also prevent stud from turning...
@mattscountry363
@mattscountry363 3 ай бұрын
If I fitted it and didn't have a bipod fitted, it would come loose. It wasn't tight at all, unless at totally the wrong angle for later use. The Bipod is used less than half it's shooting life

Complicate old world, isn't it? In fact I've been told it's a combination of both words... a SPRING LOCK WASHER... in some places too. But they're easy enough to source, either way. Maybe the other style would work too

Really disappointed mate! So the whole video depends on one screw, that you state "you can order". You do not state how it is called, or where it can be ordered. Mate, this whole thing is worthless without knowing how this special screw is called, and where you get it. It's like saying: "I'll tell you how this works, all you need is this thing, that you have to find out about yourself, and it all works". Well thanks mate! I never thought that having the right stuff for the mount could ever resolve the problem! Just a tip from an amateur: Telling the people about the most important part, the thing the whole thing is all about, would really be nice!

He didn't even say what is was called! It's a 'HW100 sling sivel stud', lots of people sell them, just make sure you get the machine screw version, not the really coarse threaded one for screwing into wood.

I’ve just bought the same rifle, and the gun shop had a specially made bespoke stud for the rifle,but it cost me £15 pounds ,but they did fit it for me . expensive I know but at least I didn’t risk damaging my new rifle by fitting the wrong stud 😊
