Trrrrriiiiiiiiippppplllllleeeetttttttttttsssssssssssssssseseses!! It's a mystical triplet buffet of patterns and chords that look like math equations! I learn all of these and then apply this technique to every song I've ever played on uke, thank you, Matt!! 😁

A 19 minute video, setting up a very busy couple...weeks? Months? Years? Who cares, I'll take the time. I have my piano lesson tomorrow, and I'll show this picking pattern as well as the chickenpicking I learned. That one I can't do during the evening hours...don't want to wake the neighbors. This one is doable.

Awesome, Matt. Not too different from Travis picking in terms of motion, so I’m picking it up much easier than the triplet strumming (gaah!). But, man, the picking just sounds so cool! 😃

Following you for a year now, thank you for all the grat content you create!!! I have a question: are you a trained musician with school background in guitar or similar? Or did you come to the perfection by your own?

No perfection here, but thank you for the kind words! I’m self taught on the ukulele for the most part, but have had some amazing mentors throughout my journey. Aldrine and Ukulele Underground were the first big influence on my learning and I got very serious about it when I discovered them thanks to the community there. I learned from Dominator’s tabs, too. I went to Edmonds College where I studied every music class I could, and brought my ukulele along to each one. My teachers were absolutely fantastic, and so helpful in helping me understand music theory in a way I could apply it to the ukulele. No guitar background, just the ukulele. :)
