I'm glad to hear it because I'd worried it was the opposite. Some of the actors looked like they didn't know how to react. It does seem like a fun job, however difficult it might be to avoid CoVid variants in close quarters with an audience like that.

@@clairepettie oh yeah. Last year, our final night, I somehow got COVID from one of the guests. Even though I was boosted (still am), I was out of commission until Thanksgiving. This year was vastly different (and a lot more fun).

@@Sethger I was asked to in 2000 and it was fun. Didn’t think anything of it. Fast forward to 2016, my partner, Mark, suggested we should try out to be scare actors for Knotts Scary Farm’s sister park, ValleySCARE (Valleyfair). And it was like riding a bike. When you get that first scream, it’s addicting. I scare acted at three different haunts since then. This year was different because I was hired to be a main character in the land I was in for a more family friendly event. It was a big paradigm shift, but I had so much fun!

The nerves before tend to be more scary then the event itself. Trick your brain into expecting the worse and its never that bad in the reality of it. It's also a good adrenaline rush and a level of excitement because you went through one. Just be sure to not hit or kick the scare actors, I have almost done it a few times since that's how I react

When people jump out and you don't like how scary they are or how close they are just yell, "you dropped your phone" It'll work to get them to break character and look around at least once, and you can scuttle off to the next terror.
