Thank you for sharing. I have a question. 1. Is Matterport Axis available only for iPhone Pro?(iPhone, iPhon mini is not available?) 2. Does the outdoor shooting match well with Matterport Axis? Thank you!

Hi. You can use ios or android...a device with lidar would give better results but you dont need lidar to do it. 2. you can do outside just like with other devices.

What is a LIDAR? Does the Iphone has smth like this? Or the Samsung Notes (20's up)?

google LiDAR.. most newer phones have it.

What's the next level camera beyond the Ricoh Theta? I see big big difference with respect to matterport cameras for example...

I only prefer the matterport Pro2 or Pro3 cameras. I only used the other cameras for comparison.

The axis tour looks a little bit darker than the tour you did using the insta 360 or the Matterport Pro. Is it because of the iPhone? Or was it later in the day when you did it and the sun was not at it's peak? thank you

I believe it was because of the phone, all of these were shot around the same time of day/similar lighting.

I really value you time and expertise on you comparisons of the Axis w. iPhone, Thetz z1, Insta RS "1", Matterport Pro 2 and 3 cameras... but am i missing something, i thought you mentioned a final result evaluation of all these system - side by side - a comparative reaults evaluation based on your obviously extensive know-how and experience... did or am i mission to find a video on this? please do let me know, it would be greatly helpful. Can i use Matterport pro 3 on starter/free plan ? how accurate is iphone 15pro max with reality ?

the starter/free plan doesn't support the pro3. when given a choice between a phone/Axis, or a matterport pro2/pro3 i'm always going to choose the pro2/pro3

I only used it once, I believe it has a small battery like a watch battery inside.

I marked windows and mirrors but did not trim beyond that because I wanted to see how much of what was captured would be processed.

Frankly it worked out poorly. Does the app save individual images in some directory that can be implemented into PTGUI or Autopano? For me, there are too many artifacts of combining photos, but that's probably due to the software itself, and the quality of the final photo is too low given that it's taken from a dozen or so 12 mpx photos. I'm even sure that using a sturdier tripod and much better panorama stitching software will yield much better results. Unfortunately, in order to check this, you need to have access to the individual photos that the camera took.

I'm curious to see the results. Did it end up creating a 3D scan including ceilings and floors?

@@sparksmediagroup Got it, thank you. The resolution certainly seems to be lacking when using the iPhone app. But, the Z1 doesn't seem too much better?

yeah i'll be honest, we only offer the pro2 and pro3 scans when doing matterport, I specifically don't offer any other cameras because I don't think the quality is there.
