A Matteson hotel was shut down by the village after fire fighters discovered numerous code violations.

1:43 What's the problem? People sleeping can not see or smell smoke. And people with bad hearing will definitely not react to non-functional alarms. Even if the alarms on the other floors work. If they are fixing this, why not add frequency Sounders in the rooms? They will wake people up and it does not have to be loud.

it'll most likely be a cheap quick grandfathered system and they def wont add low frequency sounders to the rooms , but it's possible.

They can't shut a building down for those reasons. A building can only be shut down if people are in direct danger like if the fire exits are blocked or a collapsing wall or something major like that

Where is all that COVID relief that people were talking about not to long ago?? Cut them a check and get the motel fixed. What is the problem?

Not all are eligible to revive relief packages or they missed the deadline to apply for relief packages and its too late anyways the hotel was shut down for good not too long after.

@@tylorevans If they did not put their paperwork in or at least try, whos' fault is that? The government was complaining they had BILLIONS of dollars, and no one was requesting.

@@tylorevans If the hotel had so many complaints, problems, they should have all been on someone's computer. All they would have had to do was transfer the data and send it off. How hard would that have been?
