it pisses me off how disrespected he is. He is easily one of our best, most important players, he always gives 100%, and when he is on form he is easily top 3 number 10s in the league. Because he complains and dies a lot, people label him as a baby and say he is a horrible captain, but it is very easy to see how much responsibility he shoulders and how much of a leader he is, especially to the younger players. He’s such an outstandingly gifted player and people don’t respect him for that. I agree that he complains way too much but that honestly imo just shows his passion. Personally, I think he’s a great captain, he bigs up his teammates if they fail or make a mistake (I can already imagine what his team talks are like). He runs up and down the pitch for the full 90 minutes every game and he’s the ONLY player who’s put in all his effort for the badge for these past 4 seasons (and he’s been our best player by miles), especially when you look at players like Sancho or an Alexis Sanchez who we expected big things from. If this doesn’t show pure passion and determination for the club, then I don’t know what does.

I'll be honest, sometimes he irritates me too - not the moaning specifically, but his chaotic nature as a player. It's like he's always trying to produce goals with one pass, even if it's on our side of the pitch and we're only just starting to build the attack. He loses posession a lot, and sometimes, although capable of absolutely brilliant, incredible passes, he can't give a simple one to his partner who's standing 5 metres before him without any sort of pressure. United has become a team very much like Bruno is as a player - pure chaos. It can be annoying sometimes. BUT. Heaven's sake, that game with Liverpool in the cup. I'll be damned if that wasn't sheer, absolute commitment and dedication. The dude never stopped running and fighting for 120+ minutes, was limping on one leg in the extras, took part in every attacking and defensive action, and went down the pitch to play centre-back when his manager asked him to. I was astonished. And then you start to remember all the small things: how he's always supportive of each and every team member, trying to guide the youth, giving a penalty to Rashford to help him out, lifting Carabao cup last year together with Harry, always staying humble and very down-to-earth in the interviews... So yes, he has issues in his game that he needs to fix. But he, although not perfect, is some proper captain material. He just needs to learn, and all things aside, I can see his improvement in his new role over the last year, even though the season itself has been abysmal. His dedication and work rate is insane, and pundits do not talk about it enough. What a player.

I think some of the hate is warranted... the drama on the pitch that a captain shouldn't have, giving the ball away constantly, looks disorganized in the final third. If he didn't have that level of talent to make up for the type of player he is, he'd never be in a top league. What people don't understand about him losing the ball is , he's a natural 10 . Or moreover he's a hybrid 10. When he was scoring 28 goals or 33 goals and all the assists for man utd and sporting, he played as a free roaming 10 , or even almost as a second striker at times . So when he plays for man utd now , he plays deeper , causing him to look for more than his usual game , but he still provided far more work rate than any other player on the pitch.
