So what's Apple's endgame in the long run with these big films? Killers of the Flower Moon and Napoleon were also box office failures as well. Is it just for subs on Apple+? I know they're one of the companies with all the money in the world, but they can't do this forever.

I'd love to hear someone in Apple's film division articulate their long term strategy and vision. I like their taste but so many of their projects appear to be struggling to sell tickets.

Apple Inc. makes so much money from their smartphones and computers they can totally afford to lose money with their movies if said movies are filled with Apple brand product placement promotions and a constant push to subscribe to Apple TV+. Long term, it will pay off.

If you look at all the CGI, I'd guess they wanted to funnel $100,000,000 to their VFX dept, and this production was the vehicle for that. It's a tax write off and keeps their studio technical people employed.

Argylle is a great spy satire, if book 1 is filmed more seriously and just focused on the argylle character it will make a franchise! If you go in with a right mind set argylle is totally fun. It’s just meant to be a silly fun spy Satire, which it delivers in spades! We had plenty of pure fun films in the 80s! When did we lose our sense of humour? 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

I saw the film why do we go to cinemas to be entertained. Why so serious we need more fun, it’s not perfect but enjoyable. With everything going WOKE we are sick of it.!!!!!

Argyle sounds like it's similar to the Kathleen Turner, Michael Douglas Film.... was so long ago I can't remember much except the sailboat. I love cats so I would definitely want to see Argyle -- you couldn't pay me $1 million to watch the Scorsese film (de niro -- turns out he wasn't acting when he started raging bull. I'm so over him ugh) but can you explain why Apple has to charge $1.99 for storage and all this money for insurance for those phones that we grossly overpay for I just love Apple, but I also feel like, enough is enough . I dumped Netflix because I'm tired of paying them way too much money and for what so they can give outrageous salaries to Prince Harry and his actress wife they can't live on the money they inherited from Princess Diana the allowance from Prince Charles and the taxpayers? Tongue in cheek but you get the point. i'm enjoying Apple TV but they jacked up the price on that...

Argylle is so so for the first hour but it gets really interesting in the second hour.The oil skating scene is amazing.The colored smoke dance gun shooting is amazing.The action on the ship is great.I am glad this is pg 13 as i hate R rated films.This is Vaughn's best film since X-men first class.Argyllle is the best movie of the year.If garbage like Venom makes over 800 million this deserves to make a billion.

Apple is like, well just add a new color to the next IPhone for $100 more. 😆 I liked Argyle. I didn’t love it. There’s a reason why Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy by John le Carré didn’t catch fire like Ian Fleming’s James Bond. Audience is more enthralled with the fantasy than the unglamorous life of a spy. If you juxtaposed Henry Cavill vs Sam Rockwell. Cavill is who we want the hero to be. Sam Rockwell is the reality of a spy, every day guy no one thinks about. I loved that flip back and forth between fantasy and reality.

It’s a mystery I have not figured out yet! Forget Apple, it’s just streaming content! The real mystery is how films make massive losses but the film companies are still fine? Lots of films right back in from through the 80s make massive losses! There has always been money shenanigans in the movie market!!! Seems films lose tens of millions all the time! 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤯🤯🤯🤯

I think the trailer for Argylle did it no favors, you couldn't quite figure out if was a comedy or action and spy film, or a satire. The vibe just didn't sell it.

Reviewers are really dumping on this but I'm not sure I believe them. It seems to fit the campy fun trend that Renfield and The Beekeeper fit into. Those got paned by reviewers but real movie viewers loved them. So it may just be that the reviewers didn't get any goodie bags or free trips or whatever payoffs are usually granted to get bad movies good reviews all over youtube.

Hm none of apple theatrical releases interests me. They all look pretty boring. Who cares if they rake in ten thousands award nominations if no one is watching it hehehe 😂😂😂
