I have wasted my talents so far in my life. No more. I’m going to start posting songs that glorify Christ. I would greatly appreciate prayers as I begin this new journey in my music.

I was diagnosed in December 2009 with leukemia (AML) and went through chemo and full body radiation treatments. It took me a year and half to get my immunity levels back to normal. I survived with the lesson that I learned and pass on to my patients. It's not a question of WHY this has happened, but if you know Jesus as your Savior it will be the question of WHO will be with you as you go through what I call the "Valley of Uncertainty". I had been a Christian since my surrender to God's son since 1978 and I knew He was there with me during those rough days knowing with an assured certainty that whether I lived or died, I would still be in His presence - nothing would have changed.

Even in 2024. This song still hold so much power. Thank you Jesus for Matthew West.

I was abused for several years and finally spoke up on may 17th, 2009...this past March I finally felt true healing take place in my heart. The Lord is so amazing! He lifted me from the pit and brought me back to life.

This song hit my heart ❤ strongly. Back in 2009 I was falling away, becoming a lukewarm Christian. I went to church going through the motions, but feeling further from my JESUS. God moved me and my family to Idaho. It took a couple of years but I found a church that preached TRUTH. I am now walking stronger in the Lord Jesus, and love 💘 being in His service. (Growing in the knowledge and grace of Jesus Christ is a daily experience).

There is not one word, To describe what Jesus Christ has done for me. My life was truly in addictions. I was beyond a wretch...and like a wretch, I deserved to die. But God did not let me die. He made me new, and you know. There are times when i sit here and cry...I remember the past...and it hurts...To know what i did. What i lost. But i will never give up...thanks to God. This song is so powerfully relevant for Christian's. Life can be so ritualistic and mundane you're literally going through the motions waiting for theat heavenly spark to bring meaning to life. I pray God gives me that passion for him. Thank you Matthew West for this important reminder.

I'd heard this song many times, even knew the lyrics. I never knew the story behind it. Being chronically ill and facing a major organ transplant. This really struck me today.

I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for God. He got me through years of torment and helping me heal.

Had been a complacent Christian for years. It was easy and it was good enough for me at the time. Last November a good friend of mine (coupled w/ the Holy Spirit of course) pulled me out of that mess . . . and the best part is that she had no idea she did anything.

I heard this song travelling this May, didnt catch who or what the title was. Little did I know what I was getting ready to go through. Wife had already walked away June of 14 three states away with my two girls. Lost my house and July 7th like lightning I had a Major depressive episode and became suicidal. I thought I was losing my mind because of my medication prescibed for depression was affecting my undiagnosed bipolar too. I prayed and cried and prayed and so on. For two months. And by the end of that my diagnoses is Major depression disorder, Anxiety disorder, rapid cycling bipolar type 1, borderline personality disorder. Im not here still because of my power. I couldnt stay in that place one second alone. Today I heard the song and it reminded me of me. He has shown me signs and grace. Now Im being patient enough to let his path and plan unfold for me.

The last 3 weeks have been a total nightmare. My uncle Ruben passed away, my ex's sister in law passed away, now my co worker Lisa passed away. I can't speak for the other 2 persons, but Lisa accepted the Lord Jesus as her savior, she got baptized. Best decision she ever made. My thoughts and prayers for her family and friends. R.I.P. sister Lisa.😞🙏

I'm so disturbed right now.. My good friend, Robby has decided to resent Christ. He's been a church friend of mine for years. He decided that the church was too hypocritical and that everybody within it is evil. He says I'm the only person he ever actually saw follow Christ. But I guess he's wrong.. Cuz if I really wanted to do something, I would have made a difference in other people's lives so they can assist in making a difference in his life.. I don't know. Prayers for my friend!

I gave a talk at a Christian retreat back in February on piety. One of the examples of false piety was about someone who just goes through the motions and mentioned this song as a way to remind others that we don’t want to do that.

This was one of the first songs by Matthew West i heard.When i heard it,it stopped me in my tracks. I've been a fan ever since.His songs inspire me as a Christian to be more and do more.

This song changed my life 14 years ago. Hearing it one early morning and singing it loudly to our God, He lead us to raise our two great nieces for Him. They were 3 and 8 and are now 17 and 21. God is good and has been faithful to help us every step of the way.

I wish I could trust God more then I do now. I prayed every second of everyday to not lose my husband to death 3 months ago. My son and I are beyond struggling right now. This song means so much to me. A few years ago I had a breast cancer scare. I remember crying out to God, telling Him that no matter what happened, I would use my life to glorify Him and try to make a difference in others lives until my death. I'm not sure if it was a test to see how I would react but my next test results were negative and the spot was benign. I give my life fully to Him and will not just "go through the motions." On August 2nd 2019 I got a call saying my uncle Matt had been in a motercycle accident and was in the ICU. We went to see him stayed over night being told he was gonna pull through and he was gonna be okay. August 15th we were told his spleen was going to rupture do you the pressure in his head, soon in August 16th we took him off life support. Then after I started smoking, drinking and doing drugs. My friends found out and we all went to church one night and prayed. God is with you through everything.

Kind of like how Matthew West went through, I always questioned about my future and would worry too much about. Worried too much to the point where anxiety and depression crept through. I would always question my worth and if i'm ready for more changes and whether they're going to be good or bad. Maybe both. During the two years i kept it to myself, I slowly slipped from God and those two years were the worst. After two years, I couldn't handle it and I finally told people at my church and my slow healing has begun. I'm closer to God than I have ever been but I still worry and still suffer from anxiety and depression but I am also reminded everyday that God will provide and wash those worries away. God didn't want Matthew West to lose his vocals so God won't let me slip or anyone slip. He will provide. Thank you Jesus for us and Matthew West

I’m 20 years old I’ve been addicted to meth for the past 3 years I have 3 felony charges against me and 3 misdemeanors and I’m losing hope just keep me in your prayers because I don’t wanna spend my whole life asking what if I had given everything. This song reminded me of my why. Why I was pushing myself in school and sports . To prove something to everyone and right before state my last match I had to win in order to qualify. I listened to this and fought till the very end and won. This song really pushed me to be a better me not only with god, school or sports but with myself .

I think it's that Matthew was forced to actually trust God rather than just "going through the motions" of saying He did.

I just found this song, I love it and can relate like so many, I was diagnosed with cancer and underwent radical surgery 6 months ago, I am doing alright now, I had faith prior but the love and compassion I received during and after has only strengthened it.
