We don't know but destroyed documents on MULTIPLE accounts on high profile cases suggests some guilty activity. Even the party it was supposed to affect doesnt even know the info, like family members for instance. People like you like to automatically assume the FBI has that authority to do this but they don't. It doesn't matter whether I need to know the information should be available especially if it's about common civilians like Bill Cooper. If they destroy and redact information like this stuff which appears to be insignificant on a national security basis based on common civilians then who knows what else they destroy and what else they hide and their true intentions can't be trusted to be pure. Don't be so sure that your right, the people that work at the FBI are human beings just like you, subject to the same impulses and extremes in human ambition and instincts like everybody else, same mistakes, lies etc. Blanket assuming the info won't affect anybody or that we don't need to know is a good way to excuse their behavior from oversight and self justify your personal perception of truth but not the actual truth itself.
