I would not recommend getting the iphone X or lower. At the very least, you should buy the iphone XR/XS, but I think the best budget iphone is the iphone 11 Series! You can easily get one for 250-450 USD👍

iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini and PROBABLY iPhone Xs are the best budget phones with face ID right now. (iPhone 11 and 12 mini are a very similar price in my country, idk how its with other countries). I’m choosing iPhone 11 or 12 mini in a few days. If you don’t care about face ID, you can also choose iPhone SE 2022.

If you want to use iPhone for up to two years I would recommend: 11 series and higher If you want to use your iPhone for more than 2 years I would recommend: 12 series and higher (with exception of 12 Mini) Why??? Here’s an explanation: I wouldn’t recommend buying anything older than 12 series in 2024 if you want to use your phone for more than 2 years. If you want to use your phone for up to 2 years from now the absolute bottom that I can confidently recommend in 2024 is iPhone 11 series. Anything older is in my opinion not worth buying. In fact you probably can get decent mid range android phone for the price of iPhone XS and older models. When it comes to iPhone 12 Mini I strongly would not recommend buying it as the battery life is very bad (at least that’s what lot of users say). iPhone 13 mini would be a better option as its battery capacity is higher and A15 Bionic chip is also more power efficient. If you don’t want any battery life compromises I would still recommend regular 13 over 13 Mini but 13 mini is kind of a phone which I personally can imagine using without much trouble. I own SE 2022 and after 1,5 years of use I must say that while the A15 Bionic is powerful beast and I doubt you could get even close to comparable performance from android phones in that price point you have to keep in mind that not everyone is willing to compromise on display quality, camera quality and battery life. Mini models and SE series are kinds of iPhones which I wouldn’t recommend for someone who needs very good battery life as those iPhones have small batteries due to their small size. iPhone SE 2022 is basically an iPhone 8 with A15 chip, battery capacity of 2018mAh compared to 1821mAh in iPhone 8, and camera quality of iPhone 8 with slightly better images and videos due to A15 SoC having better camera image processing capabilities. This is great for users like myself who like older form factor and smaller size. So if you don’t mind worse battery life, camera and display then go for the SE 2022 I guess. If you mind those things then go for iPhone 11 and higher if you want to use that phone for up to 2 years. If you want to use your phone for more than 2 years then go for iPhone 12 and higher. The iPhone SE 2nd gen (also advertised as 2020 model) is the same story as iPhone 12 Mini. The difference between SE 2nd and 3rd gen is that 3rd gen has more powerful and more efficient SoC chip than 2nd gen with higher battery capacity which means that the battery life has gone from bad to survivable or even good enough (depending on the type of user)
