Mattias is a genius songwriter, his leads for these scorpion songs blow my mind, you couldn't write a better lead for these songs, talk a solo that peaks.The emmotional content still blows my mind.The climax of his leads, just grabs your spirit and kicks it into rock n roll heaven

John p Joe right? First three solos right out of the gate on Love at First Sting are in your FACE! Especially in Hurricane. All up at the 22nd fret getting OFF. And drops down for another blistering run up the pentatonic scale. Mastery. Imo, he wrote sole of the best leads EVER and his fill work on Blackout and LAFS albums is unmatched by anyone. Anywhere. Give it up for Dieter Dirks too. I think he produced both records.

oh this guy is great. anyone complaining about this legend not doing his sweeps perfectly is a ignorant jealous wanna be not even worth thinking about. The reason they are trying to diminsh him is the reason they are watching him and NOT him. Such a great guitar player. No One Like You solo!!!! Actually let me post this so all the bedroom players trying to justify their own lack of success not realizing they are just cowards can see it better. He is the man who replaced Michael Schenker, whom Ive seen play like shit in front of 12,000 people but hes still one of the greatest players of all time. All hail Matthius!!!!

I've seen this guy play on 4 tours since Love at First Sting, he's the backbone of the band and a true gentlemen, he personally handed me his guitar pic at Crazy World tour during Winds of Change song... guys a real rock star. My favorite song by Scorps is COAST TO COAST and only the true fans know why that song is so amazing... while not having any lyrics. LOVE my Scorpions... till i die.

Scorpions were SO good when they were still a bit more dark, moody, melodic and emotional... Coast to Coast is a perfect example. Those earlier albums seemed to come from the heart, although they were not the biggest sellers or the catchiest radio singles as from Blackout onward.

Klaus and Rudi were always the songwriting backbone of the band - Uli was technically a FAR better player than this. Case of being in the right place at the right time - oh, and on your first album with them it's Michael who plays the best solos - kind of nice introduction, eh?

My favourite scorpions albums had Matthias Jabs and Rudi Shenker playing guitar. I bought lonesome crow, fly to the rainbow, virgin killer etc etc but blackout and lovedrive imho were their peak.

Funny if people dont hear a scorpions solo with his regular tone he " sucks ". The playing in the beginning is pretty dam good...fluid and melodic playing minor scales/modes not just humping the pentatonic scale . Ive seen in other shop vids he plops down and plugs into anything ...granted the tone is not great , but if you are a player , you recognize he is still quite good . I think he just doesn't give a shit...hes legendary and has nothing to prove. Just having fun.

Agreed. He's aging, and eventually that will diminish their accuracy and speed. Nolan Ryan couldn't walk back into MLB and throw like he used to. With anything that requires fine motor skills, age can diminish it. Some players are more affected than others. It seems to be worse with the ones who abused drugs and alcohol for more of their life. Just listen to some of the Jimmy Page stuff from the early 80s. I questioned whether it was one of those "shreds" parody videos where they overdub crappy guitar work over top of the visual performance of a legendary player. But the footage was real. Heroin doesn't do your neurons any favors, and neither does alcohol. What I do appreciate about this video is how real it is. I love seeing a legend just picking around and not being perfect.

I got to go over in early 2016, he has an amazing shop and some cool memorabilia from back in the day. I was hoping to meet him since he was one of my biggest inspirations to play when Blackout came out. Unfortunately I never met him, but was overly joyed to go there. Just an amazing guitar player, and his guitar tone was supreme.

Matthias isn't in the shop too often as he lives in Hanover and his shop is in Munich. But he stops by from time to time and obviously always has a lot of fun there, even giving a little concert from time to time.. You have to be lucky to meet him.

Hab Matze kennengelernt als er ca. 17 war. Damals schon unglaublich gut. Hörte sich Jazzrock an und spielte sofort ton für ton nach. Natürlich acuh Hendrix. Aber auch z.b. billy cobham , back door und andere.

Tem gente falando que o cara errou, que tinha que manter a reputação por ser quem é, engraçado que tem uma porrada de vídeos de uma leva gigantesca de guitarristas famosos errando bend, picotando nota e tocando uma merda e nego defende falando que tava drogado, ou que todo mundo erra, aí vem malhar o cara pq ele foi numa loja de guitarra, pegou uma e foi brincar kkk se ele quisesse teria tocado perfeitamente

No. He is not playing bass lmao. He is playing a normal, electric guitar. Big difference between the 2. I could go on for days on how different they are.

Hello , i would like to know if the EX90 is neck through (maple or mahogany neck)?

This guitar is made of Korina. If i'm not wrong, the body has a maple top (like the Gibson Les Paul). The neck (Also made of Korina) is glued on the body. I, personally, played this exact guitar in his store in Munich in 2013. Sounds and feels really great!
