This is my own vehicle. I do actually drive for another company. In Michigan, you can buy a bus and convert it to an RV. You have to repaint it, remove the warning light flashers and stop sign, and add permanent eating and sleeping quarters, then you can register as an RV and you won't need a CDL. The downside, is then you'd have to pay motorhome insurance on it.

Pretty neat gadgets. You don't even need a lever to open these doors like back in the days.

@TheMorton54- Yes, there are a ton of factory options. They can pretty much add anything they want as long as it conforms to their state requirements; however, options like an air seat, air door, air ride, and even air brakes cost extra money.

3 years ago I used to ride in this exact same bus except it had the double stop signs and the folding door.

@matts4290 if it was an FE, there would be a curved stepwell and a hood in the cockpit, and a full emergency door in the back. Your right, it is a RE. There is just a push out window in the back.

I drive this same exact bus at work, (2002 Blue bird AA) and the mechanics said the idle adjust has to be connected. They left it disconnected to regulate how high you can idle.

This is my favorite bus ever, i ride a 2009 this year its awesome

for my junior and senior year of high school the bus was a 02 aa and it was amazing it never broke down exceped for one time the doors didnt open and we had to wait for a back up bus but i love the aa and the last week of school we actully got the new aa and they are amazing as well

i rode a 2011 BB vision the other day. it was manual door, which most buses(in the dapper bus co) have. i wonder why the bb corp went to hi tech air door to a 1980 manual blak box?

@sobo418 No, it doesn't work when the high idle is activated. It does not work on this bus. The switch will adjust the engine idle on the other buses at our shop though, w/o the rabbit switch on.

@TheMorton54- Its all how the bus is spec'd. Some schools opt for the simple manual doors since they rarely fail. The air door has a lot more components that can and are more likely to fail.

It controls the temperature of the defrost, foot warm, and dash climate controls

I drive buses in the UK, and ours are so different lol.

@sideswipefan1- I just leave the master switch on, but most drivers will turn it on and off for every stop if it is the MN non-sequential system.

The mirrors are manually adjusted.

With blue bird automatic doors you get a lot of bang for your buck

I ride an old 1990-200 bus with the old school handle to open and close the doors xD none of that fancy button stuff lol

I really dont like this type of bus. Because i remember one time that my bus driver closed her door and still had her reds on because she was waiting for a kid, and it was winter, so what if she closed the door, the lights would turn off and cars would go, that could kill someone.
