I used to listen to this song on the radio in my childhood. Now I am 17 years old and this song is part of me and it is really important for me, because it always cheers me up in the darkest days. Like a pill for the emotional pain I feel everyday.

After going through a hard time in my life, having to deal with teenager problems, this was one of the songs that made me understand how life works, it made me see how we just need to live day by day without overthinking about everything. A good friend of my died 1.5 year ago and his father was the person who made matt Simon famous, when he died matt made a acoustic version of the song and sended it to his dad and they played it at the funeral and this tune always gives me chills till tis day. last year in quarantine i started getting so bored i got to a point were i founded this secret beach that was beautiful, peaceful and just me. i have being attach to that place since on and start to cry when hearing this song because it just reminds me of that place were i get to sleep in the sand hearing songs, hearing the waves a bird, where nature hits its trust on me and just everything. were i get in deep sleeps and my mom needs to wake me up when its very late, me watching the stars in the night, the sun in the sunset and rise up. Today I was wasting my time scrolling Insta reels and the song was used. I finally came back here after years of searching. I’ve listened to this song a million times. I Love it. It is the first time someone has put into words, a vital part of me that has remained a mystery to even the closest of friends and family. They have always respected my “quirky” personality, even though they never really understood it until hearing this. I have always understood this song to be about the rich inner world that exists in some of us, that so many others misunderstand as being distant or detached. It is the “space” we need from the outside world, that is private and unique to each of us.
