I was expecting him to flip it around and upside down then reusing, it instead of cutting a new piece. Good to see the seat in a better spot for Ed. To bad it wasn't done at the beginning when they knew it would be a problem. Drive the wheels off it Ed!!!!

The Golden Nugget is what started it all for me!!! Ed nailing the throttle. My friend's 99 year old mother peeling out in her '70 440 Chrysler. My 85 year old aunt complaining that her old Pontiac is not fast enough. Older folks can still get it on.

This is a crazy event, and you took a wall strike like a boss without making a problem. If you hadn't gotten snarled earlier, you'd have been fine. No concerns. Do it again, this is like the ideal mix between chaos, level-set and freedom.

What an absolute insane group to race. Derek Feller, Jerry, Ole Cleet and of course the Lower 48. Makes me wanna start a track build just to play next year. Maybe I'll do the build Fiero build I've been thinking about. Cleet has a fun tight track to mess around on.

18:49 I had one of the first SJ410's in our area! .. They started selling them in 1981 Canada, and I bought one for my wife! It would go just over 60MPH flat out. They had normal 4 cycle 1 litre engines then. And many of the dealers sold mostly RV's The engine blew out after 4 years, (it still run but rattled like crap!) The dealer took the whole thing apart, welding the connecting rod journals up and ground them back to stock (Under size bearings were not available yet) , new pistons and valves, etc etc ALL for 0$ under warranty!! We were told it was one of the very first engine rebuilds under warranty :) We drove it for 5 or 6 more years after that, with zero issues except a new exhaust, we never even had to put brake pads onit!

This shows how much friggin effort Cleetus and his army of minions put into these shows. They get everyone up to speed, even the guys with no racing background, and let them do it safely. That the first 10 guys qualified within 0.3 seconds of each other is a testiment to the effectiveness of the training. 🤟 And I have to say: for an old derby guy Matt got his instincts well under check... 😁

TomTom, your grease trick is great. We use that same trick in the cabinet business when laying out hardware, but instead of grease we use lip stick. ;)

48 as in "Lower 48." Update: That was a guess. In later portions of the video it looks like "Lower" is painted to the upper left of the number 48.

I feel like there’s more to be done with Golden Nugget, vibrations and Noises are common with this type of cars, some sound deadening in between door panels,a headliner some floor mats just to transform it to something more comfortable.. but still it was the most awesome MORR projects👍
