All humans on planet earth are indigenous, it doesn't matter if you are from Africa, Asia or Europe. People have been living like this for thousands of years. Just look at Europe during the Ice ages. In colder climates it's difficult to grow crops and there isn't a whole lot of eatable vegetation. This is why you don't get a lot of different peppers and spices that other cultures have.

@@erikwiken5091 I don’t understand your question. The current situation is the man is middle aged, lives predominantly off the land and seems happy with his life. He makes these tools to be used for their intended purpose by the people in his community, I’d imagine on a need- by basis too. A 25gb data plan with 3mbps download speed is $80 a month in Nunavut so it’s obviously not the place for thriving online business. Add that to shipping and material costs like I mentioned above and even if people would actually spend $125 dollars on something like this, it probably wouldn’t be very profitable for the amount of time and effort put in.

@icy purple when that wage raise happened, so did living expenses. rent is around $1500-$2000 for a 500sq ft apartment, theres homeless camps everywhere right in the center of the city, people living in vans and cars and tents everywhere. also that wage is only in king county, which is a relatively small county

@moogle68 Жыл бұрын
@@brendanbloomberg3283 It doesn't have to increase living costs though, that's the thing. Companies love to say that they have to increase prices if they increase wages, but no, they don't. They constantly adjust prices and rarely if ever adjust wages, so they have been making more and more profit for years without sharing any of that with their workers who are actually earning them said profit. They adjust prices after wage increases because they are greedy and want to maintain the same profit margins, but they can still make a profit if they didn't adjust those prices. They are literally causing the inflation we are having by anticipating problems that no longer exist or that turn out to not be as bad as we thought they'd be. And once they realize that people are still paying those high prices they just don't bring them back down because why throw away new higher earnings? But the only reason people keep paying higher prices is because the goods they are buying are necessary, not optional, so their increased greed is just driving more and more people into homelessness.

after seeing inuit food in this video, I really REALLY want to try some. As a Navajo, even though I predominantly grew up in the city, I also grew up eating organs (my dad's mom makes the best blood sausage on the planet and I will fight anyone who says otherwise), intestines (achii 😋), and every single part of an animal. My favorite was when our grandpa would let us pick meat off of the sheep's head that he roasted. It was a big deal because, the head was his favorite and was always reserved for him alone. So, seeing their traditional cuisine just made my mouth water and stoked my appetite.

I'm Native American from southwest Oklahoma and a lot of the Native Americans around here eat raw beef kidneys with salt. I tried it before but wasn't for me tasted like a when have a bloody nose. But I don't mind kidneys bbq grilled, we always have bbq kidneys at cookouts and during Thanksgiving and Christmas we have kidney gravy. Chicken gizzards are also big around here the local gas stations serve deep fried gizzards but if you get them not fresh they are hard as a rock. So, I usually go in the mornings when they are fresh but if I go too late they will be sold out. Gizzards taste salty, chewy like fatty part of fried chicken but I grew up eating them, so that's why I like them so much and people who come to visit never like them though. So, it's more a acquired taste.

Just think how much more hard work hunting for food would have been for their ancestors. Snow, No snow mobile, no guns or binoculars. Incredible. Such a harsh environment.

really makes me see how fuckin Anglo-cized I’ve been when a dude just straight up drinks a cup of seal blood and doesn’t bat an eye that’s so based

White people have drank and ate blood too, remainders are still around with blood sausage for example. The difference is availability. Food is so plentiful for so many now that those parts are left to the side for better bits of food.
