I took this road the first day by accident. Was sweating the whole time!! big ol F150 crew cab. Made the Road to Hana a breeze, and the road after hana wasn’t too bad either

Before you take your shiny mustang convertible rental on this road, read your contract carefully. There are several roads on Maui that are no-go with a rental. ^ THIS is one of them. Be respectful in someone else home when visiting. That goes for a lot of the other "secret" spots. There is plenty to do that's legit.

Respect is always most important, especially in Hawaii, and traveling through peoples homelands. Definitely check rental agreements before traveling all over the island.. We try to stick to the main areas of the island but this looking fun to explore.

Nope! I go fo Maui regularly but have never driven & will never drive that road. Too dangerous & scary. Videos like this one suffice for me. And rental car contracts expressly exclude coverage. For good reasons

As the driver, I'd want my passenger to be on the inside, not beach side. People coming at you are insane.

Yeah this road was scary for both driver and passenger. I perfer the way we took because most of the drive was down hill and we didn't need to reverse uphill to move out of other cars' way.

@peterouuu yeah we took it thinking it was going to be similar to Road to Hana. We were mistaken, that road was crazy to drive on.
