I met him at a burger king in Sandusky Ohio. They played at cedar point ,I wasn't there. Their limo was in the drive thru & I asked driver who was in it. He called back & they rolled down the window. He was with a lady. Got their autographs. 👍😁 Still have it.

In his book “Shining Star” Maurice wrote about the money it took to keep EWF afloat. Read the credits on the albums and count how many musicians were involved. Remember the EWF tours? Very expensive to produce Maurice wasn’t shy about spending money on the band.

These is no way at all he should have only $10 million dollars to his name. Many times the media doesn’t know the whole truth of a story but only supplies bits and pieces. At a show in Memphis, Tn, Reese's hometown, at the Midsouth Coliseum they did a magical stunt. Sitting at the rail next to the speaker systems. During the music, in a magical moment Reese disappeared from the stage as the music played and all were amazed. Then the spotlight signed on the speakers an arm length from my seat and there Maurice appeared. I jumped up and extended my hand leaning against the railing and Maurice reached over and shook my hand. That was the GREATEST moment, from my #1 artist from the same hometown of Memphis. Maurice also attended the same high school Booker T. Washington as my mother Sylvia L Cooper. She graduated a year or two before him. In looking at her yearbook, there he was. RIP Maurice and thank you for still at 63 years old, my #1 recording artist for decades.

Loved this informative video about the late Maurice White. Truly, a musical genius. EWF wax always one of my favorites. I recall tge first time I took a younger cousin to an EWF concert at tge Spectrum on Philly. She was young but truly appreciated their musical talents. I believe Music is a Gift from God and in the right hands of a person who understands God Purpose & Intentions for it, Music can lift the Spirit as well as heal the Soul. Maurice White was given the Purpose and embodied the Intentions it required to deliver the type of Music that transformed Peoples lives. From the moment I first heard EWF, "Head to the Sky" and every subsequent album my Soul transcended my teenage angst and my Spirit was elevated. These were Black Men who knew the Power of the Spirit, these were Men who made a difference. I was never a fan, but a Teenager who sat at the knees of my Elders as they fed my Spirit through the Divine, God. Thank you EWF, especially Maurice White WELL DONE. You are truly a King💜👑💜. I was a big fan back in their heyday many years ago but I hadn’t given them much thought in recent years but out of nowhere a few months ago I had a dream where they were playing in a concert in a cold climate country like Sweden or Russia, the weather appeared to be a cold day and they were wearing winter clothing, nevertheless despite the weather they were doing what they do! Which was tearing it up!! Maurice was doing a solo on a violin (which a friend of mine who knew them personally said he did not play) then he pulled out a tiny violin 🎻 to play the last few notes of his solo, m-a-a-an, blew me away!! I texted my friend that knew EWF personally and she doesn’t think they ever had that concert but she wouldn’t really know. I don’t know how or why or where I saw it, still has me scratching my head

a very smart player of music.he was not racist and seemed to have a smile and i could tell he loved his music .he was never bigger then the show and was a complete professional for many yrs, i traveled at certain times of the yr that i called festival season ,everytime i looked there was E W F always playin fairgrounds,street scenes, village stage's across the states and always came out with those smiles and rocked all venues....he will be missed by pros and fans alike.rip MR,WHITE you were a complete package.
