It's not totally different geometry, it obviously doesn't affect him much. I'm actually surprised that he skates 146s and not the 151s. I got those to upsize some Ace AF1 44s. Stage 4 =beefy AF1

The stage 4 hanger actually fits exactly the same on a stage 11 baseplate. the stage 4 baseplate is only different in looks, from the stage 11, the fit and geometry are the same. I've interchanged both and they fit the same.the only difference is the stage 4 bushings are taller, but the stage 4 hanger also has a deeper bushing seat.

exactly, They did not have the bushings in different soft, medium, hard. But I reached out to Indy manager and he made them. so now you can ride medium and hard bushings in the stage 4

Im going to have to try out some conical bushings or a combination of 94a-92a stage 4 bushings to see if ill keep them in rotation went with the 146's to see their fliptrick/potential on popsicles and smaller/tapered nose shaped decks. But the smaller hanger than im used to with conical fulls...makes it way harder to lock in and stay/sit on grinds. The cylinder bottom bushing was an easier aspect to get used to with the stage4...but i still have to run conicals/mids bc i grew too used to the stage XI/X height and conical bushing feel/control. IDK after running 94a bottom and 92a top conicals for so many years. I cant even consider aces bc their bushing/combo is inverted compared to how i run mine. They run a softer bottom...and slightly harder top...even in their "hard" bushing kit....id have to run their "harder" bottom with their stock top bushing. Plus their premium price point. Id rather spend the same amount on stage 4's and a few sets of bushings. ESP if these are going to be a novelty/discontinued.

I asked Gavin, The Indy Manager to make the stage 4 Hollow. They did make the bushings tho soft medium and hard for stage 4. I asked him to release those.

Stage 4s are the best too!! I don't think you'll ever need trucks again after buying and skating them. If you like Ace Classic or AF1 trucks, you will fall in love with the new Stage 4s

These are better. The build. The grind is unmistakably better imo .. but I do love the af1 33 lows

I ride Ace now because I don't want to feed into the truck madness anymore, but I skated Indy for over a decade and I bought the Stage 4's when they came out. The only reason I switched was because of the weight. Stage 4's are super heavy, and the baseplate is too compared to a normal Indy plate. Down the line I'll probably going to go back to my trusty 149's or give the Stage 4 a go again.

I like ACE AF1's, also. but I ride mostly INDY. The Hollow Forged 144'' and 149'' Are some of my favorite trucks. I still haven't tried the Ace Af1 hollows tho

@@TRAVIESO_NA I like the weight of hollows, but I dont like hollow hangers. Ace hanger with a forged Indy baseplate works really well if you are OK with mixing. The AF1s are great, if you want to shave some weight just put the hanger on a hollow Ace baseplate. I wish I could weigh both to see the baseplate weight difference.

146 into 8,25 will give a really solid and stable base, aswell a good pinch for crooked grinds. I like tthe wheels to be aligned to the deck like that. I use 139´s in 7.75 decks.

I'm the same. Use 144s on 8" deck. The wheels line up perfectly then and so it doesn't look like I'm floating. That's ideal for me.

8.38 with 159s for years now riding 6.1s too. For me the trick is in your variety of skating. If youre willing to run wider contact patch like conical fulls/radial fulls, The wide patch also eats into the hanger/clearance towards your kingpin...so it also changes the stability/balance of your board when riding/setting up tricks. extra hanger space for cross hanger locked crooks/tweaked nose grinds...and solid lockin space for feeble/smiths in transition. You really feel the difference with 360/cab variations, or big spins.

I may just have to try the stage 4 hanger on my 144 mid IKP plates. I usually run 159s. but recently got the 146 4's and some 144 mid IKP hollows. To kind of try to up my park/street game a notch. But the stock stage 4's definitely need to be tuned to my needs/ability. 92a conicals on the 144 mids..but i usually run 94a bottom 92a top with the stage X 159s i mainstay. Just hard enough to not bug out at high speeds and auto/centers you out landing into airs/transfers while the slightly softer 92a...offers a lean/carve factor w.o being too choppy like a pure 94a setup. After riding bones med/hards for so long....they get costly/blow out so often...the indy conicals were a saving grace when they swapped to the XI design. This already has me wondering if i should get some other stage 4 sizes to have on hand.

Currently running old Tensor bases with the slider (yeah!), Venture hangers, Ace bushings (I think, thank you Nathan!) ‘cuzza Bones blowing out. If I remember correctly it’s a Tensor Kingpin ‘cuz it’s connected to the base, and a bunch of other NHS shit! At least the Corona checks let me see through (some of) the bullshit. (Sorry SKATEONE, I tried). Bunch of other shit to unpack as well. But I’m just gonna go with “SKATEBOARDING!”

Indy explicitly says stage 11 base is not compatible with stage 4 hanger 🙀 This suggests otherwise

those plates aren't supposed to be interchangeable. to be fair, i've always frankensteined trucks together so i doubt it's gonna hurt anything, but def screwed with the geometry.

I'vw gor both. the basplates have a different look but they're actually identical in fit. the stage 4 hanger fits exaclty the same on a stage 11 baseplate

Is Mario shaving his kingpin down? He's using regular Indy bushings? the Stage 4s have different sized bushing. He has no thread showing.

It's a forged hollow stage 11 baseplate. These have regular kingpins so he can use normal stage 11 bushings.

Orange stage 11 barrel bottom and red stage 11 soft top on a stage 11 baseplate. The stage 4 bushings are too tall.

@@Scalamander stage 4 bottom bushing and stage 11 top bushing works. i just find there was too much threads showing at the top, his doesnt seem to have that issue. Was just curiosity on my part.
