I did it to the top twice in the years 1985/1986. Its was marvellous. In the group, some people did not make it to the top.

quite a challenging climb, i am afraid of heights and i had to push myself to make it.

U did it without ropes? How was the trail at that time? Was there the metal rungs ? Heard the smf put metal rungs there in the 80's..?

I had a go at this when I was in Mauritius - but seeing as I was on my own, had to bail at the main cliff. Painful to be 60m vertically from the top and not bag the summit. If I ever go back, Rempart (if I can figure out access) and Pieter Both would be the first two goals.

No access to Mt Rempart at the moment due to lack of maintenance on the mountain - there’s a couple of installation to make the ascent easier. Maybe next year there might be changes but till then it’s off limits for safety reasons - a Belgian tourist attempted the summit but died in the process, and so did a member of the police force who went up there to retrieve the body.

It's an amazing view from the top ,we did the top with no professional equipment just a rope in 2019
