For 31 years, Jessica has been alone. At 12, she found out she was adopted. She then spent the remainder of her childhood in and out of 123 different foster homes. Jessica hired a private investigator to look for her biological parents. She is here today with a woman named Kimberly and a man named Richard to see if they are the parents she has spent all her life searching for.

I gave a baby up for adoption as a teen. He searched and found me last year. He’s a nice mature young man and was raised in a good 2 parent home. He’s a firefighter, owns his home. I went through an adoption agency. Obviously, I’m proud of the decision I made for him to have what my immature, ignorant self couldn’t. I was so relieved when he told me he was in a good home and never needed for anything growing up.

@@kwakuemma4357 Funny how you didn’t even think to ask me why his father couldn’t take care of him. The fact you think it was easy tells me you’re either a psychopath or that no one has ever loved you. I feel sorry for you and the pain you must be in that makes you so stupid and miserable. But I’m sure you earned it and rightly deserve it.

A lot of parents who put their kids up for adoption don't know how to look or even where to start looking... It's a whole lot harder to find people than a lot of people realize. I've spent over a decade looking for my long lost siblings who I can pretty much promise you don't know I exist but I get nothing because I don't even have a name to look for them under. And unfortunately that is the problem most bio parents have as well. They have no information to go on to find the kid they gave up because in most places the second they signed their rights away that was it. They had no right to look or even request information about the kid at a later date and so they have to wait for the kid to come find them instead because they atleast have some right to the information some of the time. Closed adoption is called closed adoption for a reason. They shut everything out from ya.

The parents don’t say what the circumstances were surrounding her birth. We’re they teenagers? Drug abusers? What? Obviously they knew they couldn’t/wouldn’t be good parents. Unfortunately, the adoptive parents didn’t want her. So why adopt her in the first place?? I don’t get that! Perhaps she was out of control and they threw their hands up because they couldn’t deal with it? This segment may answer who her biological parents are, but it gives me a whole host of other unanswered questions.

Poor woman needs therapy to heal those traumas and resentments. A lot of people passing judgement on the mom but she was obviously very young at the time of Jessica’s birth and we don’t know her circumstances (16 and dad 23!) She could’ve opted for abortion but she chose to give her daughter life and put her up for adoption- I’m sure hoping that she was giving her a better life than what she could provide. The real villains in this sad story are her adoptive parents who abused her! I also think it’s very possible that it was a closed adoption and the mom didn’t have the financial means or resources to track down her daughter. She seemed very regretful and genuine. Dad not so much- she said he has “so many kids” which tells me he’s good at making those babies but not raising them 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'll start by saying I can't relate to the struggles of an adopted/foster child and the related anger, but I think she's extremely irrational and self-centered. Most mothers give up their children (a painful decision in the first place) because they want them to have a better life than what they can give them. They would have no way of knowing that she would have suffered down the line. Some people obsess over kids they put up for adoption, and other people may choose to avoid thinking about them because of sadness, guilt or not wanting to disrupt the family. It doesn't make them a bad person for not finding you. Most of the time, the kids have to search for the parents. And why is she publicly confronting her? I already thought it was weird when she said in the clip "I wanna know why" this and that when they'd already spoken before. Shouldn't you be here for the test at this point? She just wants a crowd to rally behind her because she's been hurt. I've gone through a hell of a lot I didn't deserve from people, but I don't need to shame them in front of an audience. The lady is apologizing and explaining herself, making promises for the future, but all she can do is continue to attack her with "me, me, me..." It's not like you haven't spoken about all this already. Even Maury felt the need to intervene.

It's not abandonment. It's a struggling mother trying to save her child. She had no way of predicting the life the girl would have. The woman who adopted her and told her she didn't want her is the one to be mad at, but no one's talking about that.

Why do many mothers gives their child for adoption in my country no matter how poor we are but we never gives our child for adoption we took care of our own flesh and blood.but in some countries parents don't care about their children.so very sad and painful indeed to see how children suffer and went to a lot of difficulties and traumas.

@kwakuemma4357 First not woman had sex and gotten pregnant, some have been rape so don't always assume that everyone women planned to get pregnant or even had sex. Second you don't know the reason why she put her through adoption and third it's not also the parents who put the children through adoption like other family, police, CPS etc have even done that before

@@alizakhan7586 1: if you got pregnant by rape, you still choose to have the child or not 2: no matter the excuse, if you are not capable to take care of a child, YOU DO NOT HAVE SEX! Definitely no unprotected sex. 3: see 2

@kwakuemma4357 yes I understand that but you shouldn't judge someone for putting their children up for adoption still. Yes some can't afford to have children but some can be because of medical issues that they never had before
