Wonderful explore & accompanying commentary as usual, the Irish countryside is so very lush, I've never seen grass look so healthy and green, the grass here in most parts of Australia is normally a light khaki shade turning to brown regardless of how much water it receives 'lol' Thanks again for another very interesting graveyard tour, some of those plots were erected around the same time Capt.James Cook & crew were navigating our now great Island continent down-under, to see that wooden mausoleum door of the same age just lying there on the scrap heap is amazing, in fact here it would be considered a museum piece, I luv it when you are able to show the coffins, these were in great condition considering their ages...Best Wishes & keep safe, looking forward to your next adventure!!!

Hi GV. I do like watching your vids. It is so nice as a slightly early retired person to sit with a cuppa and watch you and Serenity Sue visit the beautiful old graveyards of Ireland. I feel the need to point out though that in England the term "Esquire" is not an indication of any sort of nobility or title (not sure about Ireland) but you seem to indicate that it is. My grandfather who was Irish always put Esq on his letters or business mail but was not a noble person ie not a lord or anything. It was just a sign of respect to call someone Esquire . Likewise a woman who is named as a male on a headstone will be as in the olden times a woman was called her husbands name (probably like when they were called a 'relic' or 'chattel' of their husbands. )Thankfully we've moved on . Still , love your channel and SS . Long may you keep going!!

These two cemeteries are amazing. The first one is so ancient it's spooky. I love the gates and even before you said gothic I said it too. The stonework's are amazing and the stone wall is very old. It must have taken the workers a long time to build them. Many many small stones neatly packed together. I loved the whole video. Than you. We don't see that in America.

Regarding the double padlocked door to the mausoleum, I can't help wondering if it known who holds the keys and could they be found if any relatives ever wanted to do some maintenance? Hopefully the key holder hasn't faded from memory as well. From what you were able to show us of the coffins, it is a very well made mausoleum.

What a beautiful old graveyard. That stone entry gate is gorgeous! It's nice to see that someone had the decency to replace the mausoleum door. The old one I would suspect is late 1700. Also, when you zoomed in under the door, i didn't see any light casting down from above or and debris on the floor indicating roof collapse.. perhaps they cleaned it up upon door replacement? Or maybe that just a dormer for appearance on top

Hey G.V. and Sue, that is an Amazing Gothic entrance, it looked like the opening of going into a castle. It's weird that all the castle looking structures were constructed in the 18- 1900's. I Never seen a headstone like the one that you shown with the triangle nose...it was kinda creepy, like dark humor vibes. I saw the new door which seemingly was snugly fitted. Ach! We'll not see coffins today, I thought. But, NO! The ever resourceful GV never disappoints and, sure enough, under the door he pokes his camera to spy the sleeping occupants, hidden in their wooden eiderdowns. One night, GV all the occupants of all the mausoleums you've filmed inside, are going to band together (including partial skeletons!) bringing their coffin lids to your bedside .... and asking if you will sign them,!! 😂SO famous, so you are amongst the dear departed! GV that cemetery looked treacherous underfoot. Up, down, pitch, yaw, left, right. I fear you were hard put to find balance with two feet at any one time. I am heartened by the fact that you had Serenity Sue at your side, should you turn an ankle or, worse still, suddenly disappear down a hole. You ought to keep him on a leash Sue! 😂😂😂❤❤

@GraveVisitations Many people lost their houses through large tax bills, the vagaries of the time, even entailment, as beautifully portrayed on Pride And Prejudice, whereupon the death of Mr Bennett, the House would go to Mr Collins, because only a male offspring could inherit and Mr Bennett only had daughters. Some also sold because they couldn't afford the repairs or upkeep
