I forgot to mention that it Will range through even a double pain window. 15:36 when I pulled it from the freezer I left the window closed. I should also mention Maven is running a 15% off their entire website until 3-31-23.

Specifically the ones with the true no questions asked NO BS Lifetime warranties. Most rangefinders are meant to be disposable throw away after only a few years due to their limited one to 5 year warranty. Bushnell is the worst company as far as warranty goes, they may not honor their own warranty within their time period. They got an F according to the BBB for screwing over way too many of their customers over warranty denials and did you know their scopes with illuminated reticles only have a one year warranty and with proof of purchase receipt under the guise of a lifetime warranty which isn't even a real lifetime warranty?

That Vortex has a real no questions asked NO BS VIP lifetime warranty and at least it's not a disposable throw away rangefinder like a SIG, Leupold, Bushnell, HALO, Simmons, and so on that are disposable throwaways after their very short limited one or two or up to 5 year warranties expire and rangefinder goes bad and all electronics eventually do fail.

Had always been curious about using these range finders, specifically because I make my own targets to zero optics using 10 yard and 25 yard targets with a POA and POI offset for various zero settings, bullet weights, and velocities based off ballistics calculations. This will help me set the target at the precise distance when using it on the range. All that I’m missing now is the report on the Athlon scope used in the woodlands brutally course.

If times are indeed hard please be sure for your sake to only buy rangefinders that honor their real hassle free no questions asked NO BS lifetime warranties including their electronics otherwise you're essentially buying a disposable throw away rangefinder since all electronics eventually will and do go bad and most companies only have a one year or two year or five year warranty. Bushnell is the worst and questionable since they don't seem to want to honor their own warranty not even their lifetime warranty and their electronics only have one year warranty with proof of purchase receipt required and one year warranty on their electronics includes illuminated reticles in their scopes under the guise of a lifetime warranty which isn't even a real lifetime warranty not what most people expect and totally opposite of Vortex. Don't get screwed over don't buy any Bushnell products don't be sorry later. Bushnell has an F rating according to the BBB for good reason they like to screw over way too many of their own customers over warranty that's been Bushnell's ongoing extremely shady practices for ovee than the last decade by not wanting to actually honor their lifetime warranty or even their one year electronics warranty even with a proof of purchase receipt. There's an unbelievable overwhelming amount if complaints google search "Bushnell customer complaints" and "Bushnell warranty complaints" don't become their next victim and don't be too surprised after they screw you over.

HALO brand rangefinders is the worst next to Bushnell. They denied my warranty on a new rangefinder I sent back within less than one month of use that quit working followed their warranty instructions confirmed over the phone a d paid $25-$30 to send it to them with tracking and insurance for a within one year warranty with proof of purchase receipt they received it and said it's a discontinued model sorry we can't replace it even if it's under warranty and suggested I just buy a new one from them WTF??? I just bought it and used it twice before it quit working and didn't drop or abuse it and they even verified that it wasn't abused. They offered to throw it away for me from their end so they wouldn't have to spend any of their own company money to ship it back to me. This was an outright blatant rip off by HALO.

Maven's demo program is such a smart strategy on their end. I wish they could make the CM.1 into a rangefinder. Maybe a archery specific one that has less range but higher accuracy. Would be interesting to see how other rangefinders do in low light, in optical quality and ranging.

Would be great if Athlon used their fantastic affordable Midas UHD binoculars for a 3000 yard rangefinder binoculars. Their Cronus rangefinder binoculars is too heavy and too expensive.

really happy to see you doing range finders, i was just looking for reviews a few days ago and every single one i found was very clearly biased (or at least hard to tell they weren't) because of a major sponsorship so it's nice that someone i trust to give fairly honest reviews is covering them I'd love to see you do some of the more budget friendly offerings next!

Yet another solid review as always. Does this brand have a real no questions asked NO BS lifetime warranty like Vortex, Burris and Athlon on their electronics such as this rangefinder? It's either a one time lifetime investment or disposable throw away in either case depending on the warranty and all electronics eventually do fail.

Was thinking of getting the Leupold R2800i(dont recall the model exactly,was about $550ish +/-),but am really leaning toward this rangefinder. Will look for more info on this model & if it's as positive as your review will definitely be buying this one

Why buy a disposable throwaway rangefinder that only has a two year warranty? I like Leupold but refuse to buy their Rangefinders and binoculars and spotting scopes that they may not honor their lifetime warranty after they become obsolete which has already happened to many unfortunate Leupold customers so much for lifetime warranty more like lifetime of that specific model until it's replaced then no more warranty but at least Leupold isn't shady like Bushnell that lives to deny warranty left and right they're the experts in denying warranty see BBB they got an F rating for a reason by screwing over way too many of their customers over not honoring their own warranty. I recommend only buying electronics devices from brands that have real no questions asked NO BS Lifetime warranty. Vortex, Burris, Athlon, Maven (called them myself to verify this rangefinder dues have a lifetime warranty including their electronics). I feel really bad for everyone who bought SIG electronics including scopes with illuminated reticles and electronic red dots and rangefinders since they have 5 year warranty from date of manufacture not date of purchase. Just like Trijicon 5 year warranty on their Illuminated scope reticles warranty starts from date of manufacturer not date of purchase. Bushnell only one year warranty on electronics for illuminated reticles in Bushnell Scopes what kind of a lifetime warranty isn't it.

You may have misunderstood me. I said I was thinking about the Leupold due to a review of 5 different rangefinders,w/the Leupold doing the best of those 5,but,after seeing the Maven,& looking more into them I think the Maven is the one im going with due to its overall performance & customer service/warranty reliability

They're meant to be disposable throw away after their short warranty time is up and it's 5 years from date of manufacturer not date of purchase like Trijicon illuminated retucles in their scopes 5 years from date of manufacture not lifetime as people think and the absolute worst is Bushnell scopes illuminated reticles only one year warranty and they still advertise lifetime warranty?

I have heard that the scanning feature is confusing on this model. It does not work like most model, it only scans either objects that are further OR objects that are closer, depending which mode you set it on....but not both at the same time?!?! I love that it has that knob, a 1/4 tripod adapter, a 7x zoom and good glass. I think their new model is a good mixture. Better scanning, No knob, 6x, same glass smaller and roughly half the price. I would either get a Maven RF or a Leica. They are the only 2 I'd buy. Maven makes great products!!! RS4 is a great scope!! and there S1 spotting scope is nasty

Does Leica have a lifetime warranty on their electronics? At least it's still a monocular you could probably find a use for after the electronics fail.
@KevinWood44
@KevinWood44 Жыл бұрын
@@commonsense5709 "IF" the electronics fail, not after they fail. They aren't one of the most popular RF's for no reason. Vortex has one of the best warranties in the industry and you could not pay me to touch anything of theirs. My point being a warranty is nice but all you have is life time warranty on a POS. I do not think this is the case w the Maven, as I said it is 1 of 2/3 Id buy. I have the Leupold and it had to be replaced bc the electronics failed so you point is well received. However, I agree the warranty should be lifetime like Maven and Sig offer.
@commonsense5709

@@KevinWood44 SIG only has 5 year warranty on their electronics not lifetime. Plus it's frim date if manufacture not actual date of purchase SO if the SIG had been sitting in a warehouse for 4 years then you buy it brand new you only have one year left on the electronics warranty.

@@KevinWood44 That's why I really do pitty everyone who spends $1500-well over $2000 on SIGs disposable rangefinders and all electronics will and do end up going bad sooner or later as a matter of fact.

SIG electronics are disposable throwaways after their limited 5 year from date of manufacture not date of purchase warranty expires. SIG are for really rich folks who can keep buying brand new SIG electronics every couple of years.
