Looks like great fun. Gonna have to take one for a spin and do really nice things for my wife. BTW- YXZ "stole" their suspension designs from Baja. Three and four link rears have been used for decades. Competition only pushes the industry farther.

Looks great and they dealt with the concerns I had with the regular Maverick Turbo. Definitely leaning towards the Triple Black MAVERICK X3 X DS but want to see it in person and test drive it to be sure.

there is in no way shape or form $30,000 worth of machine there . $700 worth of aluminium for a frame 200 worth of steel in the suspension. people we are getting screwed. i only paid $22,000 for my truck that is fully loaded with an air conditioner. to build this thing myself it would cost about $12- $13,000 and thats with a lot better materials and engine.

+luismontes525 It's a limited slip differential modified specifically for the X3. The videos I watched last night had Mavericks climbing up steep banks and mud holes easier than RZRs without any traction control. I'd rather have my power going to the wheel that actually has traction instead of the wheel in the air. Looking forward to testing it out myself.

It has the new Viscus-Loc X Front diff with spiral cut gears instead of straight cut. The trans and rear diff are in one housing like the Defender. New stronger rack and pinion steering steering with replaceable tie rods and ends.

no but they have shocks through the hood and a triple motor clearly copied them. defend them all you want yamaha came out with that two months ago then of all the things canam could have come out with they come out with the triple and shocks through the hood.
@Yielar1
@Yielar1 8 жыл бұрын
What kind of comment is that? Who cares. Watch King of the Hammers and you'll see a sh*t load of shocks thru the hoods. It's a great design. You'll also see a very similar suspension setup but they run 40+ inches of travel. Technology trickles down from races like KOH and Trophy Truck Baja events. That's how it works similar to race technology trickling down the street cars.
@ryandayon3484
@ryandayon3484 8 жыл бұрын
for the record dude. this machine has been drivable for over 2 years. it's been under heavy reliability and durability testing. and I didn't know that yamaha patented the shocks through the hood idea and the triple cylinder idea.. I guess you should call 1989 back and tell all the class 1 buggy racers that they copied Yamaha in 2016 and that they should jump into their Delorean and change that... Seriously the butthurt shows easily with ridiculous comments like can am copied Yamaha and Polaris.
@theirishaxe9405

yea I thought the pointed front end and front shock angle resemble my YXZ and the rear suspension off a Polaris even kinda looks like an attic cat from the side
@Yielar1
@Yielar1 8 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say that. Every top sports car in the industry takes cues from their competition and then tries to improve on it and that's exactly what they did. Better engine, stronger gear driven transmission, superior suspension, more clearance and amazing sound. I'm impressed with what they came up with and can't wait to drive one.

LMAO! does the yamaha have 20' of travel stock?or a CVT? and BRP has been working on this model for a long time,
@ryandayon3484
@ryandayon3484 8 жыл бұрын
read comment above. seriously. stupidest comments ever awards. yamaha didn't invent trailing arm suspension, didn't invent shocks through the hood, triple cylinder etc etc. and with travel like the x3 has @24" they have to go through thr hood if they want to keep it riding @ low center of gravity.. at least the x3 has a reason to have them go through the hood for reasons other than the buggy look.And for the record this machine has been drivable for over 2 years. it's been under heavy testing and what not.
@bionicvenom
@bionicvenom 8 жыл бұрын
it's the buggy look with all suspension and minimal body work. If you really want to get technical the wildcat was the first with this look.

The front end looks like a wild cat and they copied the yxz suspension.... probably gonna be garbage 154 hp is to much for the shitty drive train can am already has... i mean they dont hold up as it is so why throw more horsepower at it just sayin

The CVT has larger diameter clutches that provides more low end mechanical advantage. The system uses standard Ski-doo belts. The CVT system has 2 inlet and 2 outlet tubes for 30% better cooling then the standard Maverick.
@Yielar1
@Yielar1 8 жыл бұрын
They have a similar suspension set up as a trophy truck so I guess you could say that the YXZ copied them too? Or just accept that it's the best possible suspension setup currently available. Also the X3 upped the ante with 20" front and back compared to 16/17 of the YXZ. Be happy we have great competition in the SxS field and that now everyone else is going to go back to the drawing board and the consumer will win in the end.

+Matt Krall you're right Polaris is still trying to get the 2016 turbo straightened out. With all the damn recalls they don't have anytime to be at the drawing board developing new ideas. Guess that what happens when you don't care about your consumer and you rush to get your product on the market to compete. I believe it's been three recalls and counting

Less than 5% of the United States is desert. Can one of you companies please stop using the desert for your promo videos for the US market? You don't see promos of Harley Street Glides competing in the Baja 1000. Because no one intends to ride them there. Know your market. Woods. Trails. Mud. Snow. Come on. We've been watching this same promo video every few months since the RZR XP 900 hit the market. Maybe before that. We get it, you can throw sand. That's like doing a burnout on wet pavement. Impressive.

30k? Save yourself the money and go buy a Jeep. Then take the extra money left over and mod the hell out of it. Way more capable, comfortable, and fun. Bought a Commander and put an extra 12k into it. Then bought a Wrangler the next year and put 10k into it. Jeep wins in every category hands down. Had I known this prior, the Commander would have sat on the dealership's lot.

STUPID CAN AM!!!!! They build a sweet, very cool designed machine, then you find out it still uses their stupid Visco lock front end. Someone at can am needs to be punched in the face. Just don't understand why they can build such cool stuff and then continue to use that dumb Visco lock front end. In the past few years I have bought 3 new machined and they weren't can am due to the Visco lock, it's by far the worst locking system out there. And unless you have gobs of money who can afford to pay 15000 to 25000 for a machine to later spend another 1000 on a halo locker, Good greif!
