I met Bill Golden at a super shops promo in Milwaukee WI, labor day weekend 1986. He invited me to help out that weekend at Great Lakes Dragway. At 19 years old I just loved helping out with the hemi powered truck. Bill was a very nice guy and I'll always appreciate his generosity.

Saw the "Little Red Wagon" in western Canada 20 plus years ago, a real treat as me and my buddy are big fans since we were kids, even said hello to "Maverick" in the pits.

Hollywood George Tuers was not the only showman to roll after landing. I don’t remember the exact year, but Wild Bill Shrewsberry did the same roll after going more than the full 1/4 mile wheelie at OCIR in the ‘70’s. I remember he was very mad and quickly stuffed the wrecked car in his trailer - he didn’t want anyone taking pictures

I saw 'Little Red Wagon and 'Hemi under Glass' at US 30, Merrillville. The sides of the track were so oily, the sparks from the wheelstanders would set the grass on fire. Good times!

hahahaha...That was my Track U.S. 30 whew-hooo....the Wonderful-times me and Uncle Bill had there Wow ! I remember I was 3yrs old/with my Dad holding me @ the starting-line "LRW" vs H.U.G. ,and my Uncle hadn't created the back brakes(to maneuver) Wheelstanders Yet , so off the side the track they'd go swerving their way back on ...Those are times(like yours) I'm so-grateful to recall ! thx, ScottyG*

When I was ten years old, up through my early teens, I'd have my parents drop me off every Sunday morning at our local drag strip where I'd have out all day, and then they'd pick me up later that evening. I couldn't begin to tell you how many times I've seen the Little Red Wagon and Hemi Under Glass put on a show. I recall the Hemi Under Glass had the engine mounted in backwards. They were always such a crowd favorite. I also remember the Little Red Wagon having Disney Characters pained down the lower half of the body on both sides.

This was the when men got bored they got out their welding torch and went to the junkyard and built a car to race that last one was where was his parachute 😁 the day when there's abundance of parts at the junkyard at a fair price.

I saw this at Fremont drag strip years ago, Dan Madigan broke a record that day 205 MPH THE DRAGSTER BROKE after he crossed the line, Dan flew passager planes for PSA , We would go down the track after the double A fueler and our eyes would sting from the fumes, I went with my friend Ross Madigan his little brother.

Wow those were the days eh…. As a kid we went to NEW YORK NATIONAL SPEEDWAY Long Island and I recall going to an event and a tragedy occurred with the red wagon. He was in the pits and the truck was spinning out of control I was watching it from the very top bleachers…. The truck they announced he had a stuck throttle and the driver was on one the brakes trying to get it settled. The truck was spinning like mad n later they announced his wife and another person was killed being struck by little red wagon I saw the whole thing from the top.
