Drones enable us to take images and aerial footage without too much difficulties now a days. Aerial Time Lapse or Hyper Lapse can convey a different and unique look.
In this video, I'd like to share some new way of having fun by using embedded hyper lapse functionality of Mavic2 from DJI.
I explained about the different definition between Time-lapse and Hyper-lapse. Put it simply Hyper-lapse is a moving Time-lapse. The Hyper-lapse mode will shoot and do compiling processes for you. Resolution is usually in 1080p with 25 frames per second. You can also save each and every RAW pictures for your post-processing purposes.
[Prior to the start]
1) Need to be careful with exposure and be aware of your surroundings.
2) Remember facing one direction while flying another can offer a dynamic view, rather than using “Course Lock”, which offers flying straight ahead or sideways.
3) Be mindful about your battery gauge to have enough power source to come back to you
4) Need to fly smooth, too fast, too sudden change of direction might ruin your footage
1. "FREE" mode
- Free Mode gives the pilot the most control. After setting interval and video length, you are free to go. But as we might know, fast course changes or high speeds might do harm to your footage. Need to stay away from them. Remember the tips for using the C1 or C2 button to activate cruise control functionality.
2. "COURSE LOCK" mode
- This allows you to target the drone in one direction for flight and then adjust camera angle differently as you like.
3. "CIRCLE" Mode
- Similar to point of interest (POI) photography, and clockwise/counterclockwise selection is possible.
- Need to choose the subject, and need to draw box on the screen by pressing and dragging until it highlights the subject.
4. "WAYPOINT" Mode
- It offers a lot of unique results. You may choose up to 5 waypoints and 2 waypoints are minimum requirement.
- Need to fly to first waypoint, orient your view as you like and press + button. After finishing plotting each waypoint, you can select “In Order” or “In Reverse” If you choose “In Order(Default)”, the drone will fly itself to the first waypoint and begin its mission.
