Mavllos Delicacy Review - The Ultimate Budget Fishing Rod?

Hey there, how's it going today? In this video, I want to share my thoughts on the Mavllos Delicacy fishing rod that I recently got from AliExpress. This rod has been quite a surprise, considering its price point of just around $38.
I'll discuss its features, including its lightweight design and the ability to cast weights as low as 0.8 grams. What's interesting is that it comes with two tips - a solid tip for casting higher weights and a tubular tip for enhanced sensitivity.
I've personally used this rod primarily for trout fishing, and it has performed admirably. I've paired it with reels like the Dark Wolf Ultra, and the combination looks great together. The rod has a unique design element with green accents near the joint, adding to its visual appeal.
While the budget gear has its advantages, I did notice a difference in performance compared to higher-end rods and reels. But for the price, it's hard to find a better option for bait finesse techniques. It allows you to experiment with traditional BFS weights, ranging from ultra-finesse to mid-range options.
However, keep in mind that it doesn't excel in power BFS, which handles heavier traditional bass presentations. Nevertheless, it's a versatile rod for most bait finesse applications, making it an excellent entry-level or backup option for anglers.

I looked at the CU Double early on. It's a great rod - many people like it. Just couldn;t get past the product photos of what looked like a brown velvet handle! :)

I bought this after watching your review. Have to say, I'm well impressed with it. White tip section is a tad too snippy for my needs, can cast 12g easily with the black tipped section. For the money it's a brilliant little rod. I use a fixed spoo l feel with 5lb mono. Brilliant little set up. Would highly recommend.

You said you can tell the difference between a 40 and 240 dollar rod. I think today I felt that. Mind you it was a spin rod but it was an Abu, I have a 2-10g Abu rod in their entry level line (like 80USD equivalent) and then this was a 2-10 in about a 150USD difference. I couldn't believe the difference in sensitity

Yeah, there's a bit change in some cases. The entry level rods are fucntional for sure. But I have been catching more fish with the better rods overall because you feel so much more. And ont he big fish, they react so much better as well.

I have the slx bfs and the curado bfs…. I have gh100 and I have two abu Garcia black max that are converted to bfs reels…. You might want to try the abu Garcia reels… they are durable and they are good for 1/8 oz and heavier…

I did look at the Kingdom King Pro, but haven't tried it. So many rods out there compared to reels.

Ah, power BFS. I guess that's what I do because I still can't manage to throw stuff much under 1/8oz very well. But I also have pretty budget gear, can't afford the good stuff so I don't know if it's me or the gear.

1/8 oz is still kinda light, but 1/16- 1/32 is the lower end. Most reels will.do 1/16 well. Could be the rod or the line too. Many people underestimate the importance of a good capable rod.

It's a good enough reel for a first one, it's done me well the past couple years, but I believe there are better options out there these days for the same or less money. I picked up a Doviello BMC100 recently and I like it more, and it's $20 cheaper than the Zephyr (clicker version).

The windshadow gets dominated by bass! :P it is fun though. I haven't finished the review, but for budget rods the Obsessio Mojo Bass is decent. Lacks some sensitivity. So not a great bottom-contact type rod. The Bass Pro Shops Micro-lite Carbon could be your best bet. I'm actually picking up the glass one soon to do an under $100 BFS combo you can build this week - instead of waiting for shipments from China.

@@Bassmaster12234 Yeah, the venom is a lighter weight rod for sure. here's the BPS one I was thinking of: M power, but the rating matched the upper End of Shimanos Bass BFS rods at 1/8 oz to 1/2 oz. Nope, Shimano - one of the originators of the system, clearly goes to 15 grams on their BFS rods.
